How was the 11,000-ton Binh Trieu 1 Bridge lifted?
With 19 steel spans and 20 support pillars, the total weight of the bridge is more than 11,000 tons. The entire giant steel block is being lifted little by little thanks to copper hydraulic jack technology. After about half a month of construction, Binh Trieu 1 bridge has now been raised more than 30cm above the two abutments. When completed, the bridge is expected to be 1.07m higher and reach a clearance of 7m, equal to Binh Trieu 2 bridge.
