As a member of the judging panel for the 2nd "Father and Daughter" writing contest in 2024, poet and journalist Huu Viet - Director and Head of the Culture and Arts Department of Nhan Dan Newspaper - said that he personally felt very honored to contribute his efforts to this meaningful contest.
Poet and journalist Huu Viet - Member of the Judging Panel for the 2nd "Father and Daughter" writing contest in 2024.
"I learned about the 'Father and Daughter' writing contest organized by Vietnam Family Magazine when I attended the first awards ceremony. At that time, I was surprised that I had only just found out about such a wonderful and meaningful contest. Therefore, when I was invited to be a member of the judging panel, I felt very excited and eager to read the first entries," shared poet Huu Viet.
The head of the Culture and Arts Department of Nhan Dan Newspaper believes that the competition will help each person find their own answers to connect with and love each other more. This could be a word of encouragement, a word of comfort, or a support system to help each other overcome difficult periods in life.
"The relationship between a father and daughter is an extremely special one. When the Vietnam Family Magazine found such a great theme, I believe it has already achieved 70-80% of the competition's success," poet Huu Viet commented.
The "Father and Daughter" writing contest, organized by Vietnam Family Magazine, received a positive response from the community.
Along with that, poet Huu Viet also hopes that the competition will be a place to share the stories and feelings of many people. "I firmly believe that many meaningful and captivating stories will be told authentically and profoundly by readers, conveying messages of love in life."
According to poet Huu Viet, the works submitted to the competition could be compiled by Vietnam Family Magazine to become a repository of information, conveying humanistic messages about relationships and behavior within the family through specific, authentic stories from those involved.
Hundreds of stories shared by authors, stemming from genuine affection, family love, and human values, were spread through the "Father and Daughter" writing contest organized by Vietnam Family Magazine.
The "Father and Daughter" writing contest, organized by Vietnam Family Magazine, takes place in an era of technological and social media development where each excellent article and meaningful story will spread faster and more widely to the public. However, poet Huu Viet believes this also presents a challenge for the judging panel in selecting the most deserving, best, and most outstanding works to award prizes.
"I believe the competition needs to be extended to gain support from state management agencies and readers everywhere, both domestically and internationally. The competition needs to be publicized to more people to bring about even more positive changes in the community and society," said poet Huu Viet.
