Correcting deviant musical activities

Faced with the recent situation of a number of young singers composing, performing and spreading on social networks songs with sloppy, offensive, vulgar musical language..., the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has just issued an official dispatch requesting the following units: Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; Ho Chi Minh City Music Association; Ho Chi Minh City Council of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts; press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City to step up orientation and rectification of musical activities that show signs of cultural deviation in order to build a healthy, humane cultural and artistic environment, in accordance with national traditions and customs.

Accordingly, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requested the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City to strengthen inspection of the content of performing activities, composing and releasing music products both on social networks and at performance programs. The Department also presided over and coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association and Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station to organize programs to raise awareness and social responsibility of artists.

The Ho Chi Minh City Music Association strengthens professional ethics education and creative orientation for members, especially young singers and musicians.
