The 9x tattoo artist won many international awards and opened the largest shop in the West, creating a common home for people with the same passion.

After winning over 50 major and minor awards at international competitions, the talented 90s-born tattoo artist Le Duong Thanh decided to open the largest tattoo shop in the Western region of Vietnam to become a common home for apprentices and fellow tattoo artists with the same passion.

At the age of 18, while studying medicine, Le Duong Thanh abruptly dropped out to pursue his passion for tattooing. At that time, tattooing was not yet popular, so he faced a lot of prejudice.

Undeterred, the young man in his 20s spent his days online, teaching himself and starting to practice tattooing to make a living. Once he had acquired some skill, he returned to his hometown to start his own business, only to face disapproval from his relatives and neighbors.

Bringing Vietnamese tattoo art to the international stage.

Despite facing many setbacks and insults, Thanh knew that his dream ran in his blood and nothing could subdue it. To prove his abilities, in early 2015, he began registering for tattoo competitions both domestically and internationally.

In early 2015, Thanh began registering for tattoo competitions both domestically and internationally to prove his skills. After 10 years, Le Duong Thanh has won more than 50 awards, both big and small, becoming a renowned tattoo artist in the profession.

In July 2022, at the Bali Tattoo Expo 2022 held in Indonesia, the LA tattoo family team, led by tattoo artist Le Duong Thanh, beat 110 other teams to win 4 major awards. In October 2022, at the Saigon Tattoo Expo 2022 – the largest tattoo convention in Southeast Asia – the LA tattoo family once again became the team with the most awards.

In December 2022, Le Duong Thanh traveled to Singapore to participate in another competition. There, he received two more prestigious awards from the organizers. In early 2023, Le Duong Thanh and LA family tattoo won more than 20 international awards.

“When competing in international tournaments, when people ask me and find out I’m Vietnamese, they’re amazed, which makes me very proud! Now, my biggest goal is to contribute to bringing tattoo culture to more people, and at the same time show how this art form is developing in Vietnam,” Le Duong Thanh proudly shared.

A shared home for people with the same passion.

Besides focusing on participating in international competitions to elevate the Vietnamese tattoo industry, Le Duong Thanh also organizes charitable activities to help people in difficult circumstances and trains many young people who are passionate about and want to pursue a career in tattooing.

Recently, he decided to build a large tattoo shop with an area of 400 square meters in Tan An City ( Long An Province). This will be the workplace for 15 professional tattoo artists and a training center for over 100 apprentices.

Sharing about this great achievement, Mr. Thanh said that it took a lot of time and money to build the shop in order to create a different experience for both the workers and the customers.

From the very beginning, Mr. Thanh wanted to create a comfortable and free working environment for his tattoo artists to express their work. At the same time, with the elegance in every detail, he wanted to foster a friendly atmosphere that would help the tattooing profession grow even more.
