Thanh Hai Border Post, stationed in Phu Thuy Ward, Lam Dong Province, is responsible for managing nearly 30 km of coastline. This is a key economic area with many fishing ports, beaches, tourist facilities, and bustling fishing activities, but it also poses challenges and requirements in ensuring national defense and security. In that environment, officers and soldiers of Thanh Hai Border Post have shown themselves to be soldiers with a strong political stance, a steady hand with their guns, and at the same time, their spirit of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style shines through their practical actions.

Major Tran Duong Khanh - Political Commissar of Thanh Hai Border Post said that the unit has regularly and extensively implemented the study and follow of Uncle Ho, closely linked to the Patriotic emulation movements, the Determined to Win emulation movements and the campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers". Implementing the contents of each movement, the officers and soldiers here have concretized them with specific actions close to each assigned task.

Over the past 10 years (from 2016 to present), officers and soldiers of the unit have organized more than 1,900 patrols to control and protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands. Thereby, they have detected and handled hundreds of violations of the law at sea, verified and concluded 450 cases, coordinated with competent agencies to crack down on 25 drug cases, and arrested 27 subjects - a significant achievement in the fight to maintain security and order in the sea border area. The above results show the spirit of vigilance, combat readiness and high sense of responsibility of the "green uniform" soldiers here.

Not only that, Thanh Hai Border Post is also a reliable support for fishermen, standing side by side with local people in many activities. With their hearts and concrete actions, officers and soldiers of Thanh Hai Border Post participated in rescuing 10 fishing boats and 125 fishermen in distress; confirmed the landing of more than 17,000 fishing boats, and provided legal guidance to tens of thousands of fishermen. Thereby, contributing to ensuring security and order at sea, supporting people to confidently go offshore.

Strengthening military-civilian ties

Along with carrying out the central political tasks, Thanh Hai Border Post also takes the lead in social security activities. Programs such as "Helping children go to school", "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the villagers", or "Houses of gratitude", "Houses of comrades" are regularly deployed. The unit also proactively organizes activities to give national flags, pictures of Uncle Ho and life jackets to fishermen. The unit also successfully built 2 "life buoy" models to prevent drowning, participated in more than 230 working days to build 2 "Comrades' houses", built 2 "Houses of love", 1 "House of gratitude" in the coastal border area under the unit's responsibility.

Not only being politically steadfast and professionally competent, Thanh Hai Border Post also focuses on internal training and improving overall quality. The movements "Military Logistics Sector follows Uncle Ho's teachings", "Building a good financial management unit", "Exploiting and using good, durable, safe and economical technical equipment and weapons" are implemented seriously and synchronously. Thereby, building order, sense of discipline, improving the quality of logistics and technical support work for regular and unexpected tasks. The unit has achieved and exceeded all targets and tasks of the Border Guard, the unit is safe in all aspects, strictly maintains discipline, the Party Committee is clean and strong, the unit is strong in all aspects.

With outstanding achievements, Thanh Hai Border Post has been repeatedly commended and rewarded by superiors. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has awarded many certificates of merit to the unit for its excellent performance in completing its tasks, and for many consecutive years has been awarded the title "Victory Unit" by the Border Guard Command. Recently, the unit was also awarded a Letter of Merit by the Provincial Party Secretary for its achievements in 10 years of implementing Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.
