Russia is closing in on Ukraine's main stronghold in Chasov Yar.

According to reports from the front lines, Russian troops have advanced towards Artyomovsk (Bakhmut). Thus, after prolonged and fierce battles, Russian assault groups have reached the main Ukrainian stronghold on the southern flank of Chasov Yar, Seversky Donets-Donbass Canal.

According to SF, Russian forces have breached several Ukrainian defensive lines and minefields in the area west of the village of Krasnoe. They are now attacking the canal, which has been transformed into a fortified stronghold to prevent attacks by Russian heavy vehicles. Ukrainian assault groups are fiercely resisting at this stronghold. Further reinforcements are expected to be sent to this front. Ukrainian forces are reinforcing in preparation for a counterattack.

This achievement by Russia is considered a significant advance on the Artyomovsk front. After the Russian army gained a foothold in the canal area, it will pave the way for a Russian offensive into the Kanal district of Chasov Yar from the south. However, things will not be easy because the Ukrainian military command is also reinforcing its reserves in the Chasov Yar area to slow down the Russian advance.

Russian forces have taken control of Rabotino.

Vladimir Rogov, head of the "We with Russia" movement, shared on his Telegram channel that Russian troops have taken complete control of the village of Rabotino. This is significant, marking a breakthrough in the offensive against Orekhovsky.

During the counteroffensive in the summer of 2023, the Ukrainian Armed Forces gained control of Rabotino. At that time, the battles there were extremely fierce, and it was also where some of Germany's famous Leopard tanks and many Western infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed by Russian fire. The media once described the area around Rabotino as a "graveyard" for NATO military equipment.
