The government has just issued a resolution from the regular government meeting in July and the online government-local authorities conference.
Notably, the Government has assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to lead trade negotiations with the US and finalize the Decree on Strategic Trade Control for submission to the Government before August 17th.
The Ministry of Finance , in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the State Bank of Vietnam, will develop a Resolution on comprehensive solutions to respond promptly and effectively to the US tariff policy, and submit it to the Government before August 13th.
In the electricity sector, the Government has assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant parties to implement the revised Power Development Plan 8, resolve obstacles, ensure the progress of large-scale power generation and transmission projects, and be ready to respond to all situations, absolutely preventing electricity shortages.
At the same time, urgently review and propose amendments to Decrees 57 and 58/2025 and regulations on the mechanism for direct electricity trading between renewable energy power generation units and large electricity consumers; regulations on the development of renewable energy, new energy, and self-produced and self-consumed electricity, etc., and report to the Government in August.
In addition, the Government has instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to closely monitor market developments in order to proactively manage and balance supply and demand, ensuring the supply of petroleum products for production and consumption in all situations.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, and local authorities are tasked with urgently addressing investment proposals for power generation projects under the revised Power Development Plan 8, especially gas-fired and wind power complexes by FDI enterprises.
Furthermore, the Government requires ministries, agencies, and localities to continue expanding and diversifying export markets, products, and supply chains, especially those with competitive advantages; and to strengthen trade promotion and support businesses in meeting new standards of export markets.
At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will promote sales and stimulate domestic consumption, effectively implement the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, and support businesses in promoting and selling products through e-commerce. The Ministry will strengthen coordination with functional forces to combat smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, especially with milk, medicine, and food.
