Removing Mr. Duong Van An from his duties as a National Assembly delegate

On the evening of January 15, Secretary General of the National Assembly Le Quang Tung issued a press release on the dismissal of the XV National Assembly deputy.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of January 15, the National Assembly Standing Committee met to consider and decide on the dismissal of Mr. Duong Van An, a member of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Phuc province, from his duties as a member of the 15th National Assembly.

Specifically, based on the Constitution, the Law on Organization of the National Assembly and relevant legal provisions; based on the opinions of competent agencies; based on the submission of the Delegation Work Committee; considering the application for resignation from the duties of a National Assembly deputy on January 10 of Mr. Duong Van An, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed, voted by secret ballot to approve and promulgate Resolution No. 1364/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the dismissal of Mr. Duong Van An from the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Phuc province from the duties of a National Assembly deputy of the XV term.

Previously, at the meeting on January 10, after considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee, the Politburo found that Mr. Duong Van An, Secretary of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee, during his tenure as Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee (from October 2020 to March 2024), violated Party regulations and State laws in performing his assigned duties and tasks. The violations occurred in the prevention and fight against corruption, waste, and negativity; violated what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

The above violations caused serious consequences, great losses to the state budget, negative public opinion, and reduced the prestige of the Party organization and local government. Therefore, the Politburo decided to warn Mr. Duong Van An.
