On the morning of December 9, Government Inspector General Doan Hong Phong, authorized by the Prime Minister, presented a report on anti-corruption work in 2025 to the National Assembly .

Government Inspector General Doan Hong Phong emphasized that the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity in 2025 will continue to be promoted, with new, more drastic and effective steps forward, both at the central and local levels, and will receive the consensus, support and high appreciation of public opinion and people.

Notably, regulations on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity have focused more on early, remote, "root" prevention.

"Dealing with corruption, waste, and negativity is associated with protecting creative cadres and party members who dare to think and act for the common good, and overcoming the situation of pushing, avoiding, and not daring to act among a number of cadres and party members," the Government report presented by the Government Inspector General clearly stated.

Agencies have proactively identified and detected corruption, waste, and negativity through inspection, auditing, investigation, prosecution, and trial work.

Many serious and complicated cases occurring in various fields affecting the healthy development of the economy, people's lives and health, and workers' rights... have been handled.

Data shows that during the reporting period (from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025), ministries, branches and localities conducted 2,034 inspections of the implementation of norms, standards and regimes; discovered 149 cases and 274 violators; administratively handled 68 people; proposed to recover VND 17.9 billion, of which VND 20.9 billion was recovered.

Agencies, organizations, and units have developed plans and implemented the transfer of positions of people with positions and powers. Accordingly, 8,956 civil servants and public employees have been transferred to work positions to prevent corruption.

Notably, in 2025, 40 leaders and deputy leaders were disciplined for lack of responsibility for corruption. Of these, 14 were reprimanded, 8 were warned, and 18 were dismissed.
