Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province: Strongly promote new growth drivers.

(Chinhphu.vn) - Quang Tri province has agreed on a growth target of 9-10% for 2026. To achieve this goal, the Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee stated that priority will be given to promoting economic growth, with a strong focus on boosting new growth drivers.

On December 11th, the 5th session of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Council, 8th term, 2021-2026, held its closing session.

In his closing remarks at the session, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, stated that the session had conducted democratic and responsible discussions and comprehensively reviewed 67 reports, projects, proposals, and draft resolutions from the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the People's Council Committees, and judicial agencies. Based on this, the Provincial People's Council voted to approve 45 resolutions with high consensus. These resolutions focused on key strategic issues of the province.

According to the Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Council, 2026 is a year of special significance, as it marks the first year of implementing the Resolution of the First Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2026-2030, ushering in a new era of development for the province.

Based on a reassessment of the economy, analysis and forecast of the upcoming situation, and a comprehensive review of solutions, the Provincial People's Council unanimously agreed on the following targets for 2026: a growth rate of 9-10%; GRDP per capita of 87-90 million VND; and state budget revenue in the province of 13,000-14,000 billion VND.

During the period 2026-2030, Quang Tri strives to achieve an average annual growth rate of 9-10%, budget revenue of 75,000-80,000 billion VND, and average GRDP per capita of 137-145 million VND by 2030.

Further clarifying the solutions to realize the above goal, Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh said that in the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will focus on directing and implementing synchronously, decisively, and effectively the key goals and tasks in the Resolution of the First Provincial Party Congress, especially the Action Program of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to implement breakthroughs right from the beginning of 2026.

In addition, focus on stabilizing the organization and continuing to operate the two-tiered local government model effectively; consolidate and streamline the organizational structure; clearly define functions, tasks, and authority; emphasize the responsibility of the head of each agency; increase decentralization and delegation of authority coupled with inspection and supervision.

Effective implementation of provincial planning is crucial, and planning must be accompanied by specific projects linked to accountability; progress should be measured by completed products, not just plans on paper; focus should be placed on growth engine areas including: Hon La Economic Zone, Southeast Economic Zone, Cha Lo Border Gate Economic Zone, and Lao Bao.

Focus on and prioritize promoting economic growth, with a strong emphasis on boosting new growth drivers such as: developing the processing and manufacturing industry, renewable energy, and new materials; achieving breakthroughs in high-quality tourism , increasing tourist spending, and exploiting the service value chain; developing urban-commercial-logistics infrastructure linked to expressways and national highways; prioritizing the removal of obstacles for production and business projects, and minimizing the time required for legal procedures…

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province affirmed that he will direct the implementation of tasks with a focus on key areas, with the highest determination and effort, completing each task thoroughly. The spirit of "6 clear points": clear person, clear task, clear time, clear authority, clear results, clear responsibility; and "3 yes, 2 no": having the interests of the state, having the interests of the people, having the interests of businesses; no personal motives, and no waste, embezzlement, or corruption of state assets and people's resources.
