Updated as of the morning of December 10 from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the low pressure area in the East Sea has coordinates of about 8-9 degrees North latitude and 111-112 degrees East longitude.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in the next 12 hours, the low pressure area will move in the West-Southwest direction at a speed of about 20km/hour and tend to weaken and gradually dissipate.
However, before the low pressure dissipates, the South East Sea will have strong winds of level 5, gusting to level 7. The western sea area of the South East Sea, including the western sea area of Truong Sa special zone, from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau and the northern East Sea area, including Hoang Sa special zone, will have northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9. The sea will be rough, with waves 2-4m high, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong gusts.
Faced with the above situation, the National Civil Defense Steering Committee has sent a telegram to 12 coastal provinces and cities from Da Nang to An Giang and related ministries and branches, requesting proactive response to the low pressure area in the East Sea.
The Steering Committee requested that localities closely monitor developments and forecasts. Agencies and localities should promptly inform captains and ship owners so that they can proactively take preventive measures and ensure the safety of people and property.
Localities and ministries and branches must proactively direct and coordinate in response work according to their functions. Rescue forces and means are ready to deploy when situations arise. On-duty agencies seriously and regularly report to the National Civil Defense Steering Committee through the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ).
