The creator of the video introduced it by saying, "This is the cost breakdown for a girl from Tien Giang province getting married to someone from a distant place, whose husband's hometown is in Gia Lai." The exorbitant expenses for various items surprised many people.
Gen Z couple causes a stir by sharing wedding expense report.
Notable among these expenses are: an engagement ring worth 75 million VND, a wedding ring worth 30 million VND, a designer wedding dress worth 130 million VND, fresh flowers for the ancestral worship ceremony at both the bride's and groom's houses worth 42 million VND, a wedding reception at the bride's house at a restaurant worth 121 million VND, and a wedding reception at the groom's house worth 254 million VND,...
In addition, there are many other small expenses such as: wedding invitations, wedding gifts, wedding car decoration, bridal makeup, etc.

This figure shocked many people. Many left mixed comments about the lavish wedding, arguing that spending nearly 900 million VND on the ceremony was wasteful and unnecessary.
"After the wedding, they'll probably have to sell their house. A few hours of extravagance for years of debt"; "Looking at the wedding cost list is stressful. This wedding isn't even about profit; they probably won't even break even. A loss is certain,"... some netizens commented.
Everything is worth it.
According to our research, the bride and groom in the video are Gia An (born in 1998, from Gia Lai ) and An Vy (born in 1998, from Tien Giang).
The couple were happy that the wedding went perfectly.
Speaking to VietNamNet , Gia An confirmed that the wedding expense list above is accurate. Their wedding was held on April 14th at the bride's house and April 20th at the groom's house, but recently, the couple came up with the idea of making a video sharing the expenses for their wedding day.
"We made this video to preserve the memories and to let everyone know how hard we both tried to have the most perfect wedding," Gia An shared. In the video, Gia An and her husband didn't mention the cost of decorating the honeymoon suite and some other items.
The couple is willing to spend money to have a lavish wedding.
The groom from Gia Lai affirmed that the couple covered all the wedding expenses themselves. Their families only assisted with setting up the honeymoon suite and preparing wedding gifts for the newlyweds.
"Initially, my parents paid for the wedding reception on the groom's side, but later we used the money we received as wedding gifts to cover the difference," Gia An said.
Gia An affirmed that the couple didn't care about "profit or loss" when organizing their wedding and had anticipated the possibility of "losing money" beforehand. What the young couple cared about was having a well-organized wedding with memorable moments on their big day.
Every time they recall their wedding day, the couple feels happy.
"When it comes to weddings, each family and each couple has different ideas. Some families prioritize financial gain, while others prefer a minimalist ceremony, not focusing on formalities..."
"My husband and I are different. We want everything to be perfect and flawless, regardless of profit or loss, as long as the wedding is complete and we can look back on it later with joy and happiness," Gia An confided.
Gia An and An Vy prepared for their wedding for five months. The couple thoroughly researched each aspect, comparing prices from various sources before making their final decision. Every step and ceremony was meticulously and thoughtfully prepared by the couple.
For the young couple, all the effort put into their wedding day was worthwhile.
"My wife put a lot of heart into the wedding; she did everything as carefully and meticulously as possible. Actually, the wedding wasn't overly extravagant. The cost might seem high, but everything was reasonable."
"Our families live 600km apart, so there were extra costs for plane tickets and hotels for some guests. However, we received support for some items like wedding photography and the wedding car, which saved us some money," Gia An explained.
Nearly six months have passed, and every time they recall that special day, Gia An and her husband feel that all their hard work was worthwhile. Everything went exactly as planned, the couple is blissfully happy, and the guests felt respected.
Both currently live and work in Ho Chi Minh City. An Vy is in the final months of her pregnancy, and the couple is eagerly awaiting the arrival of their child.
