President: Respect farmers who rose from nothing to become billionaires

According to President Luong Cuong, the 63 outstanding farmers and 32 agricultural scientists honored are the most outstanding representatives, strongly inspiring aspirations and motivation to contribute to the country.

On the evening of October 14, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union held a ceremony to honor and award the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer and Farmer Scientist in 2025. President Luong Cuong and representatives of Party and State leaders attended the ceremony.

Agricultural scientists have worked tirelessly to create new varieties of plants and animals.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong emphasized that the 63 outstanding farmers and 32 farmers' scientists honored today are the most outstanding representatives of the results of their tireless and tireless work, strongly inspiring the aspirations and motivation to contribute to the country and community of the Vietnamese people on the path to building a prosperous, civilized and happy country.

"We are truly moved and appreciate the examples of farmers who started from nothing and their diligence, creativity, perseverance, and efforts to become billionaires on the fields, legitimately enriching themselves, their families, and their communities.

Pioneering farmers in digital transformation of agriculture actively participate in invention and innovation.

Examples of noble actions such as donating hundreds of square meters of land to build new rural areas and protect the country's borders...

I also know that there are scientists who have devoted their whole lives to scientific research, agricultural scientists with a very high sense of responsibility, always tirelessly contributing to creating new plant and animal varieties, inventing and improving tools, bringing scientific and technological advances, contributing to increasing labor productivity, firmly ensuring food security and enhancing the export competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products" - the President emphasized.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President highly appreciated, warmly congratulated and commended the efforts, attempts and important contributions of outstanding farmers and farmer scientists in the cause of national construction and innovation.

Promote the movement of farmers competing in good production and business

According to the President, to realize the two 100-year strategic goals, agriculture, farmers, and rural areas play a very important role.

Therefore, the President requested the Vietnam Farmers’ Union to continue successfully implementing the revolution of restructuring the apparatus in the direction of streamlining, strengthening, effectiveness, efficiency, and being close to the people. Regularly dialogue, listen to farmers’ opinions, promote and expand the initiative of listening to farmers.

Promote emulation movements associated with new rural construction, especially the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty.

Together, let's build a modern countryside with synchronous socio-economic infrastructure, a green, clean, beautiful environment, a healthy and rich cultural life imbued with national identity, security, social order and safety so that farmers in rural areas can have a better life.

The Vietnam Farmers' Union also needs to continue to arouse and strongly promote patriotism, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-control, and the desire to become rich legitimately so that farmers can truly be the subject and center in agricultural development, rural economy, and new rural construction.

"Farmers' associations at all levels must have high determination, good measures, and close coordination with intellectuals and scientists to support and help farmers improve quality in the agricultural commodity production chain. At the same time, promote innovation and digital transformation in agriculture, protect the ecological environment, proactively integrate into the international community, and preserve the cultural identity of our Vietnamese people," the President emphasized.

The President hopes that the outstanding Vietnamese farmers and State scientists honored today will continue to write and spread inspirational stories. Continue to contribute, maintain creative and united ways of working, help each other, strive to enrich themselves, their families and the country.
