President To Lam and Speaker of the National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane emphasized the continued close coordination and mutual support at regional and international parliamentary forums.

Continuing his activities within the framework of the State visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on the afternoon of July 11, at the Lao National Assembly building, President To Lam met with the President of the Lao National Assembly, Saysomphone Phomvihane.
Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane warmly welcomed President To Lam on his first state visit to Laos in his new capacity, expressing the warm and fraternal friendship of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam; and congratulated President To Lam on being elected President of Vietnam by the National Assembly at the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly. On this occasion, Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane extended an invitation to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to pay an official visit to Laos soon.
President To Lam expressed his pleasure at visiting the fraternal country of Laos and meeting again with Speaker of the National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane, a close comrade and brother of Vietnam.
President To Lam conveyed the warm greetings of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and other high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane; expressed sincere gratitude for the valuable and kind sentiments that the Party, State, and people of Laos have always shown towards Vietnam; and congratulated the Lao Party, State, and people on the great and significant achievements they have made in the construction and development of their country.
The President expressed confidence that Laos will overcome current difficulties, successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress and the 9th Five-Year Economic and Social Development Plan, and successfully prepare and organize party congresses at all levels and the 12th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
Speaker of the National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane respectfully conveyed warm greetings to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other high-ranking Vietnamese leaders; sincerely thanked the valuable support and assistance of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam to the Party, State, and people of Laos in the struggle for national independence and in the building and development of the country today; and highly appreciated the results of the working visit of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh to Laos from July 3-5.
The two leaders reaffirmed that they always attach great importance and give the highest priority to consolidating and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; considering this a priceless asset and a vital element for the revolutionary cause of each country.

Expressing pleasure at the positive development of relations between the two countries in general and between the two Parliaments in particular, President To Lam and Speaker Saysomphone Phomvihane emphasized the importance of regular exchanges of delegations and high-level contacts between the two countries; actively implementing the Cooperation Agreement between the two Parliaments, including organizing conferences and seminars to enhance the exchange and sharing of professional experience; and continuing to coordinate closely and support each other in regional and international parliamentary forums.
President To Lam highly appreciated Laos' successful hosting of the first-ever Tri-Country Parliamentary Summit (Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia) in Vientiane (December 2023); affirming Vietnam's readiness to support Laos in successfully undertaking important foreign affairs activities in the coming time, including the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) 2024 and successfully fulfilling its role as AIPA Chair in 2024.
