President Vo Van Thuong attends Thanh Tuyen Festival 2023

On the evening of September 23, in Tuyen Quang city, the 2023 Thanh Tuyen Festival took place with the theme "Sparkling colors of Thanh Tuyen Festival Night" organized by Tuyen Quang province in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and many localities at home and abroad. The program attracted the attention and participation of tens of thousands of people in Tuyen Quang province and tourists from all over the country to Tuyen Quang city.

President Vo Van Thuong attended the Thanh Tuyen Festival. Also attending were Politburo member, Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; leaders of ministries, branches and localities in the country; international guests; and the participation of thousands of people and children of Tuyen Quang and provinces and cities nationwide.

The highlight of this year's Festival is the Thanh Tuyen Night Festival organized on a national scale with the participation of 7 provinces: Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Binh Thuan and localities with cooperative and friendly relations with Tuyen Quang such as Xiengkhuang province (Laos) and Anseong city, Gyeonggi province (Korea). This is the first year that Tuyen Quang province has implemented the Project to innovate the organization of Thanh Tuyen Festival for the period 2023 - 2025, with the main goal of building and developing the Festival into a tourism product with national and international brands.

After nearly 20 years of being created, maintained and developed by the people, Thanh Tuyen Festival has been recognized by the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records three times: "Mid-Autumn Festival with the largest number of lantern models in Vietnam"; "Largest Mid-Autumn Festival tray in Vietnam"; "Largest pair of lanterns in Vietnam".

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son said that Tuyen Quang people have created giant and colorful Mid-Autumn lanterns to create a very unique and impressive Mid-Autumn Festival to give to children and teenagers, as well as to introduce to domestic and foreign tourists and friends. Thanh Tuyen Festival, a festival of the people, has truly become a unique and distinctive tourism product of Tuyen Quang province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member and Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh reiterated that President Ho Chi Minh always paid deep attention to children with a strong belief in the intelligence and qualities of future generations. He always emphasized the responsibility and important role of the Party, the State, fathers, mothers and the whole society in the cause of caring for and educating children.

The 13th National Party Congress documents continue to affirm the need to strengthen education on knowledge and skills to protect children, control the situation of accidents and violence against children, and move towards universalizing preschool education for children under 5 years old; strengthen supervision and inspection of the implementation of policies and laws on children; implement the Party's policies and with the participation of the entire political system. Up to now, the work of protecting, caring for and educating children nationwide has achieved many great achievements.

In order for children to have a complete childhood with meaningful Mid-Autumn nights, to live in warm love and fulfill their dreams and ambitions, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh suggested that Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, organizations, parents, and teachers nationwide continue to coordinate to care for and invest more in the work of protecting, caring for, and educating children. It is especially important to continue to pay attention to caring for children who are children of war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs and those who have contributed to the revolution; children in mountainous and island areas; children from families in especially difficult circumstances. It is necessary to continue to strengthen propaganda and education on policies and laws on children; closely coordinate between families, schools and society in caring for, educating, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of children.

At the festival, President Vo Van Thuong presented gifts to children of all ethnic groups in Tuyen Quang province on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, hoping that they would strive to excel in their studies and have a warm Mid-Autumn Festival with their families and loved ones.

With the theme "Sparkling colors of Thanh Tuyen festival night", Thanh Tuyen festival night has an art program consisting of 4 chapters with a vibrant atmosphere, grand scale, with the participation of artists, in which children are the main participants. Chapter I has the theme: "Fairy Mid-Autumn Festival" with stage effects, sound, light and a large lantern along with art performances by children. Chapter II has the theme: "Brilliant Mid-Autumn Festival", introducing the unique Mid-Autumn Festival in all regions of the country; concluding with the Mid-Autumn Festival customs of the people of Viet Bac land. Chapter III has the theme: "Mid-Autumn Festival Dream" expressing the dreams of children in the future, calling on children from all regions of the country to light up lanterns to watch the moon with their families and send their wishes. Chapter IV has the theme: "Tuyen Quang Citadel Festival", introducing the process of birth and development of Tuyen Quang Citadel Festival from 2004 to present with models made by the people themselves, creating a trend throughout Tuyen Quang city and then becoming a special festival every Mid-Autumn Festival of Tuyen Quang province.

The final part of the program is a parade of hundreds of giant, colorful Mid-Autumn lantern models, creatively simulating animals in daily life as well as characters in historical stories, folk tales, fairy tales, fables, etc. selected from competitions organized by Tuyen Quang city and districts in the province. This time, there are also models participating in the parade from Xiengkhuang province (Laos) and Anseong city, Gyeonggi province (South Korea), attracting a large number of people and domestic and international tourists to pay attention and follow./.
