The official visit of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to Singapore was a great success, contributing to promoting cooperation through the parliamentary channel between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Singaporean Parliament.
According to the VNA special correspondent, concluding a successful official visit to the Republic of Singapore, on the afternoon of December 3rd local time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, along with the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly, departed from Changi Airport in Singapore for an official visit to Japan from December 3rd to 7th.
Seeing the delegation off at Changi Airport in Singapore were: Member of Parliament Don Wee - a member of the Singapore-Southeast Asia Parliamentary Friendship Group; Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Mai Phuoc Dung; and several officials and staff members of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore.
During the visit, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, held talks with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, and discussed matters with Singaporean Speaker of Parliament Seah Kian Peng.
During the talks and meetings, the leaders of the two countries affirmed that the Vietnam-Singapore relationship is constantly developing, reaching many important milestones in all fields; they agreed that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to coordinate closely to soon bring the bilateral relationship to a new level.
With a solid foundation in bilateral economic cooperation, both sides affirmed their determination to further promote this important pillar of cooperation through enhanced information exchange, sharing experiences in addressing new issues in socio-economic development; promoting investment based on leveraging each country's strengths, creating breakthroughs in new growth areas such as green logistics, data center construction, semiconductor chip manufacturing, clean energy, carbon credits, food security, green finance, etc.
To promote substantive cooperation between the two Parliaments, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Singaporean Parliament Speaker Seah Kian Peng agreed on the need to continue effectively implementing the Cooperation Agreement between the two Parliaments, contributing to the further development of the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Partnership and elevating it to a new level; strengthening information exchange and sharing experiences of each country on improving institutions, policies, and legal systems, ensuring macroeconomic stability, expanding foreign relations, and enhancing the effectiveness of international integration; and implementing cooperation activities between parliamentary committees and agencies, and between parliamentarians of the two countries, including young parliamentarians and female parliamentarians.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested that Singapore pay attention to and implement policies that create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses, investors, and Vietnamese people in Singapore to live, work, and study conveniently, contributing to the development of bilateral relations as well as contributing to Singapore's socio-economic development.
