Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee inspects disaster recovery project in Bac Yen

The working delegation inspected the project of arranging and relocating residents in areas at risk of landslides and rockfalls in Ngam village, Song Pe commune, invested by the People's Committee of Bac Yen district.

The project includes: Traffic works and technical infrastructure works level IV; civil works level III; energy industry works, 35kV and 0.4kV lines level IV.

The total investment of the project is about 65.8 billion VND, from the provincial budget public investment capital for the period 2021-2025. The project implementation period is 2024-2025.

The working group inspected the progress of the project to relocate and arrange residents in areas at risk of landslides and rockfalls in Ngam village.

Up to now, Bac Yen district has completed the preparation of the project's feasibility study report according to the Decisions of the People's Committee of Son La province. Currently, the detailed planning of the project's rural residential area with an area of ​​about 6.5 hectares is being carried out.

However, this project requires a detailed construction planning project. Therefore, the preparation of the detailed construction planning project will take a long time, about 6 months, leading to the project preparation time being longer than planned. On the other hand, the project must convert 3.8 hectares of forest, which also affects the project implementation progress.

Inspecting the actual project at the grassroots level, comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet requested departments and branches of Son La province and Bac Yen district to focus on good coordination, remove difficulties and obstacles, and speed up the project implementation to ensure compliance with legal regulations.

The delegation of the People's Committee of Son La province and Bac Yen district presented gifts to the people of Ngam village, Song Pe commune.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, also requested relevant units to focus on propaganda and site clearance for the project. The investment and construction process of the project must prioritize essential works such as schools, roads, and production land for the people.

With the viewpoint of protecting the safety of people's lives and property above all, comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet proposed that the Party Committee, government and people of Ngam village, Song Pe commune agree and support the investment policy to build a project to relocate and arrange residents in areas at risk of landslides in the area, to soon implement the project and stabilize the population before the rainy season of 2025.
