Preparing to start construction of the Ministry of Public Security airport

The Mobile Police Command (CSCĐ) has just held a Conference to review and deploy the plan to organize the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Gia Binh Airport Construction Project ( Bac Ninh province).

According to the Ministry of Public Security, to gradually realize the planning, on September 17, 2024, the Government approved the investment policy for the Gia Binh Airport Construction Project with the immediate scale of a specialized airport, equivalent to level 3C.

The project is implemented for the People's Public Security Air Force to perform training flights and be ready for combat on equipped helicopters; it can ensure take-off and landing for Chinook CH-47D, Mi-8, Mi-171 helicopters, and Casa-295 transport aircraft. At the same time, when conditions permit, it can be a reserve for regional airports in case of emergency, with a scale that can receive Su-27, Su-30, Embraer, ATR-72 and equivalent aircraft.

Regarding the orientation of planning and investing in Gia Binh Airport of the People's Public Security Air Force, it will be a model of a national defense security airport, a specialized airport, equivalent to level 4E. Accordingly, the orientation is to ensure the operation of special flights serving Party and State leaders, international politicians on large fixed-wing aircraft; transporting goods and passengers when required and qualified.

At the conference, delegates discussed the results of the implementation of the tasks assigned in Plan No. 553 dated November 27, 2024 of the Ministry of Public Security. Along with that, they discussed and agreed on the content, coordination plan, and implementation of tasks in the coming time to serve the project groundbreaking ceremony to ensure progress, solemnity, and safety.
