This year's match proposal – “ Competitive student competitions must end” – touches on one of the hottest issues in modern education : the pressure to achieve and the true meaning of learning.
Both teams entered the debate not only with knowledge, but also with a clear attitude: students have the right to dialogue, to debate and to speak the voice of their generation.

Contestant Ngoc Minh from the petition support side (Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City) opened with an emotional presentation: “Education should not be a race where every failure makes students feel inferior.” The arguments about “extreme competition causing damage to mental health, inequality in learning opportunities, and short-term motivation due to exam pressure”, which go against the spirit of the new General Education program and the goal of developing students’ capacity, were clearly presented by the support team. The team’s reference to the government ’s Resolution 71 on educational and training breakthroughs made the judges immediately “like” in agreement.

On the other hand, the opposing team from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Gia Lai) chose a sharp and in-depth rebuttal: "Competition is not to eliminate, but to illuminate the true abilities of each person." The team asserted that "competitions are an environment to practice pressure management skills, teamwork skills and motivation for students to overcome themselves." Examples from Teen School itself, from excellent student competitions or international scholarships help the team's arguments become more convincing and closer.

Tension until the last minute
As the match progressed, both teams played better with sharp questions. The supporting team forced the opposing team to face the question: “If there were no more competitions, would students lose their motivation to study?” , while the opposing team countered with: “If we only study for prizes, who are we nurturing?”
As a result, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Gia Lai) won the final victory - but the most memorable thing is not the trophy, but the courage of the Gen Z generation: confident, knowing how to debate, knowing how to listen and daring to talk about education based on their own experiences.

Teen School is a debate competition for high school students produced by VTV7 - Vietnam Television and British University Vietnam (BUV). In 2025, Teen School continues to affirm its position as a creative educational playground, where students "learn to understand" instead of "learn to memorize". This year's season marks a step forward with a profound debate system, direct interaction with the audience and a 75% scholarship (worth 750 million VND) for each member from British University Vietnam (BUV) for the Champion team - a testament to the commitment to nurturing a young generation of courage, confidence with the spirit of learning and perseverance to move forward.
