The exam results further confirm that the 2024 High School Graduation Examination has fully achieved the set goals and requirements, such as: evaluating students' learning outcomes according to the educational objectives of the high school general education program; recognizing high school graduation and serving as a basis for evaluating the quality of teaching and learning in high schools and the guidance of educational management agencies; and enabling higher education and vocational education institutions to use the high school graduation exam results for admissions.

The 2024 high school graduation exam will be held on June 27th and 28th, 2024.
Professor Pham Hong Quang, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen University Council, commented that, looking at the analyzed score distribution, it is encouraging to see the convergence, reflecting that secondary education has been valued and there is no significant skewness. This proves that in the process of organizing teaching and learning in localities, teachers have paid attention to the fundamental foundation of secondary education, creating a solid foundation for students to enter life and providing opportunities for them to continue their education after secondary school. These are telling images, and I highly appreciate the data analysis method of the Ministry of Education and Training, which has produced a scientific and reliable result.
The high school graduation exam serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it confirms the 12 years of schooling, with the exam covering comprehensive content and yielding positive results. Secondly, the reliability of high school education will serve as a foundation for universities to select students based on subject combinations.
The results also reflect the way the Exam is organized. Although this exam is to end a program, it opens a new trend, students can access post-secondary education with certainty.
From the score distribution results, I am pleased that from remote areas to developed areas, the convergence of general education is shown in all subject scores, the difference is not much and not significant. With such a distribution graph, it proves that the teaching organization process, the process of making questions, and data analysis have met the requirements.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son, Rector of Hanoi Pedagogical University, stated that the score distribution analysis shows that, fundamentally, this year's scores are quite good. This indicates that the exam results are relatively stable compared to previous exams and reflect the quality of teaching and learning in general education. Specifically, the score distribution for some subjects, such as History, is very well-balanced. Furthermore, the score distribution for English is also showing a more positive trend compared to previous years.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son also stated, "One of the very important goals of the High School Graduation Examination is to adjust the teaching and learning process in high schools. Therefore, if the exam results are evaluated reliably and objectively, as has been done in the past, it will be a very good basis for education managers and teachers to adjust their teaching and learning processes and achieve the desired results."
Evaluating the score distribution of this year's high school graduation exam, Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc - Chairman of the University Council of the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, assessed that the 2024 high school graduation exam was successfully conducted in a safe, serious manner, and the score distribution met the expectations of education administrators, candidates, and parents.
Based on this year's score distribution, it can be concluded that both the exam questions and the results have been stable compared to recent years. The organization and results of the exam have followed the directives of the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training, maintaining stability in terms of the candidates' and parents' psychology, as well as stability in the university admissions process.
Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc also assessed the exam results as highly objective. Based on the general knowledge level nationwide, this year's score distribution is entirely reliable for universities to use as a benchmark for admissions. Through the exam results, we can see that the exam matrix and difficulty level have remained stable, and all subjects have shown very positive improvements.
This is reflected in the significant improvement in the average score below 5 across all subjects. Even subjects like Math, History, and Physics, which typically have a relatively large number of below-average scores, have shown improvement. Therefore, I consider this a positive sign. This result also demonstrates the stability and effort put into learning and teaching by both students and teachers, showing a clear improvement compared to previous years. This is a positive sign regarding the quality of general education nationwide.
Experts also predict, "With the distribution of scores in subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and especially Chemistry and Geography, there are more perfect scores (10 points) compared to previous years. Therefore, it is predicted that the score distribution for the A00, A01, B00, C00, and D01 combinations will increase."
Simultaneously, Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc noted that, based on the exam score distribution, the Social Sciences group, for example Literature and Geography, still shows a high percentage of excellent scores and a low percentage of below-average scores; while Natural Sciences subjects like Mathematics and Physics, although showing improvement, still have a higher percentage of below-average scores compared to other subjects. Therefore, Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc suggested that the guidance and selection process for university entrance exams in the Natural Sciences group needs more attention and focus.
