On the afternoon of July 10th, the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced the cut-off scores for early admission to the regular early childhood education program for the year 2024.

Specifically, the early admission methods include: priority admission and admission for students from specialized classes; admission based on high school academic results; and admission based on high school academic results combined with a specialized aptitude test.

The admission method uses high school academic results; the admission score is the sum of the average scores of 3 subjects over 6 semesters in high school (corresponding to the subject combination based on the 2024 high school graduation exam results) plus priority points (if any).

In this method, the chemistry education major has the highest cutoff score, reaching 29.81 (meaning candidates must achieve above 9.9 points in each subject to be admitted).

The admission method uses high school academic results combined with a specialized aptitude test. The admission score is determined based on the scores of three subjects. The main subject, the aptitude test score (converted to a 10-point scale), is weighted by a factor of 2. The scores for the other two subjects are the average scores over six semesters of high school. This total score is converted to a 30-point scale and includes priority points for eligible candidates and regions as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training, rounded to two decimal places.

The scores for the main subjects are taken from the results of the specialized competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in 2023 and 2024, or by Hanoi University of Education in 2024.

Commenting on the benchmark scores for early admission methods this year, Master Le Phan Quoc, Deputy Head of the Training Department of the school, said: "Basically, the scores have increased slightly this year compared to last year. Among them, the major with the highest benchmark score is still Chemistry Education."

Ho Chi Minh City University of Education notes that candidates will be officially admitted when they meet the following conditions: They have graduated from high school in 2024; their admission score is equal to or higher than the minimum admission score for each major and each admission method; they have registered their nguyện vọng (preference) on the Ministry of Education and Training's admissions portal or the National Public Service Portal from July 18th to 5 PM on July 30th and their names are included in the official list of admitted students.
