On May 28, the leaders of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police announced that, to ensure objectivity in determining the cause of death of Mr. NTD (27 years old, residing in Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province), the unit had requested the Ho Chi Minh City Forensic Center to directly participate in the examination.

Earlier, at around 1 AM on May 25th, the police in Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province, received a report from residents in Minh Hung commune about a theft of electrical wires. The district police went to the area to verify the information and track down the suspect.
When police arrived at a road in Duc Phong town, Bu Dang district, they spotted four people on two motorbikes acting suspiciously and asked them to stop for inspection. Seeing the police, the group sped away. The police apprehended two of them along with the evidence: rolls of electrical wire.
During the quick interrogation, the two suspects confessed that the theft group consisted of four people, including NTD. When they spotted the police, the whole group fled.
Based on the testimony, the police continued to search for the remaining two suspects. Later, the police found D. in a cafe and invited him to the police station for questioning.
During the course of the operation, D. appeared tired, so the police took him to the Bu Dang District Medical Center for examination, but he passed away.
To clarify the cause of D.'s death, the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police requested the Ho Chi Minh City Forensic Center to directly participate in the examination. The examination process was monitored by the victim's family. According to the initial preliminary conclusion, D. died from pulmonary edema.
By the morning of May 26th, D.'s body had been handed over to his family for burial.
According to the Bình Phước Provincial Police leadership, a quick test revealed that all three suspects tested positive for drugs. The police are continuing to search for the remaining suspect.
According to the provincial police, D. had previously confessed to hiding in an orchard and being caught in the rain all night. The provincial police are continuing to investigate and clarify the theft case and the cause of D.'s death.
Regarding the death of the deceased, many social media accounts are sharing content claiming "Police beat someone to death." The Binh Phuoc Provincial Police are verifying the identity of the person who posted this baseless information and will summon them for questioning.
