Recognition of inspection results of the old Cau Lau bridge

DNO - Mr. Tran Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Da Nang City, has just signed Document No. 4346 on the recognition of inspection and load testing results and the installation of signs to limit the load of the old Cau Lau bridge.

According to the document, the City Department of Construction received Document No. 198 from the Quang Nam Traffic Infrastructure Management Center on approving the results of inspection, load testing and organizing the installation of signs to limit the operating load, the old Cau Lau bridge repair project. This center also attached a report on the results of inspection and load testing from the Center for Applied Research and Technical Consulting on Construction Foundations (consultant).

The Department of Construction officially recognized the results of the inspection and load testing of the old Cau Lau bridge repair project conducted by the Center for Applied Research and Technical Consulting on Construction Foundations and at the request of the Quang Nam Traffic Infrastructure Management Center.

Announce the vehicle load capacity of the old Cau Lau bridge (vehicles with total vehicle and cargo weight) not exceeding 10 tons, the same as the load capacity previously passed. The Department of Construction requested the Quang Nam Traffic Infrastructure Management Center to install the P.115 sign (limiting total vehicle weight) to 10 tons, along with the S.502 sign (distance to the signal object) according to the regulations in QCVN 41:2024/BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction ); the location of the signs is according to the attached location diagram.

The Department of Construction assigned the Quang Nam Traffic Infrastructure Management Center to carry out the necessary procedures to proceed with the opening of traffic. During the management and maintenance process, the recommendations of the inspection consultant stated in the inspection report must be implemented to ensure the safety of the project.

Mr. Huynh Le Tuan, Deputy Director of Quang Nam Traffic Infrastructure Management Center, said that in the coming time, the relevant parties will accept and put the project into use. After that, the Department of Construction will issue an official notice to open the bridge to traffic.
