Vietnam has become the focus of global attention for how a nation with patriotism, unwavering will, and indomitable fighting spirit can overcome all difficulties and hardships to protect its right to national self-determination, independence, freedom, and national unity in a world with complex and powerful intertwined relationships.
For the world, the victory of the Vietnamese people contributed to reshaping the international order in the final decade of the Cold War and in 20th-century human history.
In his opening remarks at the seminar, Dr. Vu Duc Liem, Deputy Head of the History Department, Hanoi Pedagogical University, emphasized that commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Great Victory of Spring 1975, the day of national reunification, is not only an occasion for remembrance ceremonies but also a time for serious and comprehensive academic efforts to better understand the significance, scale, and position of the resistance war against the US and the Great Victory of Spring 1975 within the national and global historical context.
These events not only ended the division of the country, shaped the identity of a unified nation after 1975, and paved the way for a new era for Vietnam, but also established Vietnam's role in the region and the world.

The conference received 91 papers from historians, education researchers, university lecturers, and teachers at all levels, sharing their research findings and shedding light on many issues related to the resistance war against the US and the Great Victory of Spring 1975.
The papers submitted to the conference clarified the inheritance and development of military art, people's war, the tradition of resistance and national construction, and the art of combining political and diplomatic struggle in history; thereby reflecting the profound national and contemporary significance, the role of the resistance war against the US, the Great Victory of Spring 1975 in shaping the identity, unity, and strengthening traditional national values.
The contributions also profoundly and comprehensively clarified the role and impact of the resistance war against the US and the Great Victory of Spring 1975 in regional and international relations; providing additional documents, new and systematic surveys on the impact of the resistance war against the US and the Great Victory of Spring 1975 on post-war issues in the region and the world.

The workshop also proposed new, flexible, and creative approaches to strengthen patriotism and national pride among young people; applying technology in research and teaching, such as utilizing archived records, documents, pictures, maps, etc., to promote the active participation and creative abilities of teachers and learners, thereby improving the quality of history teaching in secondary schools, especially in the implementation of the new 2018 general education program and the revised 2022 program.
At the conference, the National Archives Center III organized the exhibition "Putting Aside Pens and Ink to Go to War". The exhibition showcased approximately 150 files and memorabilia associated with the teachers and students of Hanoi Pedagogical University who volunteered to go to war. These files and memorabilia are part of the collection of files and memorabilia from the war that the center is currently preserving.
