The construction area of the Economic Zone is divided into 3 main sub-zones.
Specifically, sub-zone 1, connected to the Nam Giang border gate area, covers approximately 30 hectares; sub-zone II, with a scale of approximately 630 hectares, is oriented towards urban areas, duty-free zones, industrial zones, and commercial centers; sub-zone III, with a scale of approximately 56 hectares, is oriented towards public administrative centers, residential areas, commercial and service areas, and rural residential clusters...
Currently, investment activities in the Nam Giang Border Economic Zone are mainly concentrated in Sub-zone 1; only 4 Investment Registration Certificates and 2 land lease decisions have been issued to businesses and individuals to implement investment projects with a total land area of 34,857 m² and a total registered investment capital of 96.7 billion VND.
These include projects by Tran Hoa Investment and Trading Company Limited, Quang Nam Province Youth Volunteer Construction Joint Stock Company, Truong Phu Xanh Company Limited, Vietnam-Laos Border Trade Joint Stock Company, and two individual business households.
To develop the Nam Giang Border Economic Zone, with its role as a development hub and trade center in the West, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Da Nang City People's Committee requests the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to provide feedback on adjusting the economic zone's boundaries, including and excluding areas within the boundaries of the Nam Giang Border Economic Zone.
Specifically, the proposal states that the entire area of the Song Thanh National Park special-use forest, coinciding with the economic zone boundary, is approximately 11,249 hectares; and the maximum area designated as protection forest is approximately 2,494 hectares.
The adjustment includes areas outside of special-use and protection forests, with economically viable slopes for land leveling, and development towards the East to Ben Giang, comprising approximately 11,503 hectares of production forest and agricultural land.
After adjustments, the boundary of the Nam Giang Border Economic Zone covers an area of approximately 28,430 hectares, a reduction of 2,630 hectares, equivalent to 8.47% (10% less), ensuring compliance with the regulations in Decree No. 35/2022/ND-CP; it falls within the communes of La Deee, Nam Giang, Dak Pring, and Ben Giang in Da Nang city.
