Da Nang launches journalism and propaganda award on digital transformation

The Da Nang Department of Information and Communications held a press conference to launch the 2024 "Promoting Digital Transformation in the City" journalism award.

Accordingly, the competition is open to all Vietnamese citizens, journalists, authors, and groups of authors from media organizations whose works have been published in newspapers; the content must be relevant to the theme and scope of the competition.

The organizing committee will award 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, and 4 consolation prizes to the winning entries, with a total prize value of 32 million VND.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Phuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications, provided this information at the press conference.

The official journalism award accepts entries from July 5th to September 30th via email at giaichuyendoiso@danang.gov.vn or by mail to the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang City.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Phuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications, said that the journalism award for promoting digital transformation was organized with the desire to strengthen communication, raise awareness, social responsibility, and create consensus among all levels of the population. At the same time, it aims to promote the role, dynamism, sensitivity, creativity, and honor the efforts of the press in promoting and responding to the theme: "Digital Transformation of Da Nang City".

“This year's journalism award is an opportunity to recognize and encourage individuals and organizations participating in disseminating the city's important policies and guidelines on digital transformation; to launch a writing campaign to spread messages, solutions, models, and innovative initiatives in implementing digital transformation. Through this, it contributes to promoting the image of Da Nang City – a smart, digitally transformed city – to friends both domestically and internationally,” Ms. Phuong said.

The Department of Information and Communications also suggested several topics for attention, such as: the content of digital transformation in the Digital Transformation Project in Da Nang City until 2025, with a vision to 2030; the content of digital transformation in the Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; and the plan for implementing digital transformation tasks in the city in 2024.

In addition, there are other successful models and practices in digital transformation that some agencies have implemented, such as: the "One-Touch Da Nang" system and the metaverse application supporting tourists by the Department of Tourism ; the pilot project for real-time traffic signal control and the model for implementing online public services for issuing and renewing driver's licenses by the Department of Transport; and the digital signature model for electronic school records by the Department of Education and Training…
