Da Nang is honored to welcome 3 more Vietnamese Heroic Mothers

(Dan Tri) - Da Nang City is honored to welcome 3 more mothers who were posthumously awarded the honorary title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother by the President.

On March 24, the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City held a ceremony to posthumously award the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother and a conference to commend and honor advanced models in 2024, and to present the Award of Dedication to Da Nang.

At the ceremony, city leaders, on behalf ofthe President, posthumously awarded the honorary title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother to three mothers in the city.

Among them, mother Le Thi Dan, from Dien Quang commune, Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province, has 2 children who are martyrs.

Mother Tran Thi Su, from Que Long commune, Que Son district, Quang Nam province, has a husband and son who are martyrs.

Mother Tran Thi Tuyen, from Que Long commune, Que Son district, Quang Nam province, has 2 children who are martyrs.

According to the People's Committee of Da Nang city, after this ceremony, Da Nang city will have a total of 3,387 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, of which 62 are still alive.

Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, expressed that Vietnamese heroic mothers, families of people with meritorious services, veteran revolutionaries, wounded and sick soldiers are living proof of a glorious and heroic period of the nation, embodying the spirit of solidarity and sacrifice for independence and freedom.

Mr. Chinh believes that relatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families of people with meritorious services will always uphold the tradition of patriotism, maintain good qualities, and be worthy examples for future generations to follow.

The head of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that taking care of the lives of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions has become a major policy of the city.

In addition to the central government’s policies, Da Nang has issued a number of specific policies to improve the living standards of people with meritorious services. However, the city’s policies cannot fully meet the living needs of families with meritorious services.

Mr. Chinh suggested that all levels, sectors and localities join hands to better care for the lives of people with meritorious services, considering it a sentiment, honor and responsibility towards those who have contributed to the cause of national liberation, unification, construction and protection of the country.

Also at the ceremony, the People's Committee of Da Nang City awarded the Labor Medal to many collectives and individuals; presented the Government's emulation flag to 1 collective and the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to 5 collectives; presented the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to 48 individuals; and awarded the "Dedication to Da Nang" award to 5 individuals.
