On the afternoon of June 24, speaking to a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper, a leader of Hanoi Law University said that immediately after social media appeared with questions about Venerable Thich Chan Quang receiving his doctorate in law in 2021 - just 2 years after receiving his bachelor's degree in law in 2019, the school conducted a thorough review.

The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that people who are eligible to study for a doctorate include those who have graduated from university (bachelor's degree) with honors or higher or have a master's degree in a relevant field.

"There are many cases of people graduating with honors with a bachelor's degree and then going straight to doctorate like Mr. Thich Chan Quang at Hanoi Law University," the school representative informed.

"Not only Mr. Thich Chan Quang, but any student studying at Hanoi Law University must fully and correctly meet all regulations and conditions," the school representative informed.

It is known that Hanoi Law University will soon have a written report to the competent authority about this incident and widely and fully inform the public.
