Accordingly, the minimum admission score for Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) this year is 20 points. This is the total score of the three subjects in the chosen subject combination, before applying any weighting factors, and includes priority points.

Regarding the results of the high school graduation exam, Hanoi National University will announce the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission after the Ministry of Education and Training announces the exam scores. This is expected to be before July 21st.
For the HSA exam, candidates need to achieve a minimum score of 80/150 to be eligible to apply.
For other admission methods, the entry thresholds are as follows: A-Level from 60/100 points per subject, SAT from 1100/1600, ACT from 22/36, IELTS from 5.5, TOEFL iBT from 72, VSTEP 3-5 from B2, APT (Assessment of Competence of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) from 750/1200.

In addition to the aforementioned admission methods, units with specialized majors/training programs may have their own admission methods, which are specifically announced in their component admission plans.
Accordingly, some majors will combine aptitude tests and interviews with high school academic results/high school graduation exam results/HSA results/international certificates, VSTEP language certificates, etc.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, Vietnam National University, Hanoi will have 13 regular undergraduate admissions units with 18,000 enrollment slots across 150 majors/training programs.
Specifically, the International Faculty of Francophone Studies is recruiting 200 students for its first intake this year across two majors: Digital Business and Digital Communication.
IELTS 5.5 or higher, TOEFL iBT 72 or higher, VSTEP 3-5 B2 or higher, APT (Assessment of Competence of Ho Chi Minh City National University) 750/1200 or higher.
Previously, Vietnam National University, Hanoi also predicted that the 2024 aptitude test cutoff scores would be lower than or equal to those of 2023. According to the Testing Center of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the score distribution of this year's aptitude test follows a normal distribution with a median of 76/150. The highest score of the 2024 exam is 129/150; the lowest is 17/150; the average score is 76.5/150; and the standard deviation is 13.3.
At score levels with a difference of 5 units, there is a clear jump to classify candidates for admission purposes. The average and median scores have remained relatively stable over the past three years, despite the number of candidates taking the High School Aptitude Test (HAS) increasing by approximately 15-25% each year.
