The 1st Congress of Delegates of the Farmers' Association of Da Nang City

On December 5, the 1st Congress of the Farmers' Association of Da Nang City, term 2025-2030, took place in Ban Thach ward.

During the past term, implementing three Resolutions 04, 05, 06 of the Central Executive Committee of the Farmers' Association, term VII, on building a clean and strong Vietnam Farmers' Association, the whole city has developed 17,283 new members; there are 93 Association bases, 1,977 branches according to residential areas and 239,800 members. Guiding and supporting the establishment of 91 new branches, 929 professional Farmers' Association groups, the foundation for developing collective economy in agriculture.

Every year, more than 108,000 households register to achieve the title of good farmers and businessmen at all levels, of which more than 68,600 households are recognized as good farmers and businessmen at all levels, thereby creating many good farmers with good and creative ways of doing things.

The entire city of Da Nang has 552 OCOP products with 3 stars or more and hundreds of typical agricultural and rural products.

In the city, there are currently 22 farms, more than 1,800 garden economic models; 552 OCOP products with 3 stars or more and hundreds of typical agricultural and rural products, contributing to affirming the brand and position of Da Nang agricultural products in the market; supporting plants, seeds, capital, knowledge, experience, product output, has helped 1,238 poor and near-poor farming households know how to do business and become quite rich.

Speaking at the Congress, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang hoped that the City Farmers' Association would continue to build a strong, professional, streamlined and effective organization; lead farmers to shift from agricultural production to modern-ecological-digital agricultural economy; strongly develop collective economy and agricultural enterprises associated with modern value chains; ensure social security, sustainable poverty reduction, improve farmers' quality of life; and at the same time participate in Party and government building and consolidate the great national unity bloc in new conditions.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Pham Tien Nam suggested that the Farmers' Union of Da Nang City should focus on building a strong and professional organization. Shifting strongly from administrative activities to support-services-accompanying farmers; from general activities to organizing specific programs with products and evaluation criteria. Promoting the mobilization of farmers to develop the economy, especially the marine economy, cooperative economy and green economy, paying attention to innovating the content and methods of supporting farmers and truly becoming the "midwife" of farmers in starting a business, innovation, linking production-consumption and accessing science and technology. Promoting the core role of farmers in building new rural areas, protecting the environment and participating in developing the marine economy. Continuing to thoroughly grasp the viewpoint that "farmers are the central subject of the process of agricultural development, rural economy and new rural construction".
