Negotiate and agree on the composition and number of candidates in Tay Ninh province.

Tay Ninh was allocated 15 delegates to the 16th National Assembly by the National Assembly Standing Committee, including 6 delegates introduced by the Central Government and 9 local delegates.

On December 5, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tay Ninh province held the first consultation conference to agree on the structure, composition, and number of people of agencies, organizations, and units to be nominated as candidates for the 16th National Assembly for the 2026-2031 term and for the Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term.

Attending the conference were representatives of agencies, units and member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tay Ninh province, representatives of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of communes and wards in the province.

At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Dai Thy, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council of Tay Ninh province, presented the expected allocation of the number and structure of candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the People's Council of Tay Ninh province for the 2026-2031 term.

Accordingly, Tay Ninh was allocated 15 deputies to the 16th National Assembly by the National Assembly Standing Committee, including 6 deputies introduced by the Central Government and 9 local deputies.

The province expects the total number of candidates to be introduced locally is 19 people and 6 people to be introduced by the Central Government. Tay Ninh province expects the candidates to be prioritized to be female, young, experts in science and technology, education and training, etc.

For the People's Council, Tay Ninh is expected to have 81 elected provincial People's Council delegates for the 2026-2031 term, with a total of 137 candidates. The expected number of candidates working in Party agencies is 9, the People's Council is 16, the People's Committee is 32, the Fatherland Front is 21, the rest are from central agencies located in the area, armed forces, businessmen, scientists, etc.

Regarding the composition, it is expected that the candidates will be 63 female, 42 under 40 years old, 17 non-Party candidates, and the components will be workers, artists, ethnic groups, religions, etc.

After the representative of the People's Council of Tay Ninh province presented the plan, delegates attending the conference gave many comments on the structure, composition, and number of candidates.

In particular, it is proposed to consider and adjust appropriately to increase the number of candidates for the Provincial People's Council in the armed forces, and reasonably adjust the number of candidates in commune-level localities.

On that basis, the delegates voted to agree on the structure, composition, and number of candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the People's Council of Tay Ninh province for the 2021-2026 term.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tay Ninh province Nguyen Thanh Hai said that the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels is an important political event for the country in general and Tay Ninh province in particular.

In particular, the first consultation conference is an important premise to plan the structure, composition, and number of candidates to be nominated for the 16th National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term, and is also a premise to select people with enough virtue and talent to represent the will, aspirations, and mastery of voters and people in the area.

The results of the conference are an important basis for implementing the next steps of the negotiation process smoothly and closely, ensuring representativeness and objectivity.

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tay Ninh province acknowledged and highly appreciated the opinions and contributions of the delegates at the conference; at the same time, it said that it would promptly complete the Conference Minutes and submit them to the competent authorities within the prescribed time./.
