
On December 11th, in Hanoi, the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army held a press conference to introduce the 8th Congress of Women Representatives of the Army (2025-2030). Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Head of the Women's Affairs Committee of the Army and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Congress Organizing Committee, chaired the meeting.
Regarding information about the Congress, Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hien emphasized that the 8th Congress of Women Representatives of the Army is an important political event, reflecting the will, aspirations, and responsibilities of women in the Army.
With the motto "Unity - Wisdom - Discipline - Democracy - Development," women in the Army are determined to join women nationwide in striving to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the Resolution of the 12th Congress of the Party Committee of the Army, building a clean, strong, and exemplary Party Committee of the Army, building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern army, enhancing national defense strength, firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, and contributing to building a prosperous, strong, civilized, and happy country.

Taking place over two days, December 19-20, 2025, with 398 official delegates participating, the Congress had the theme: “Promoting the fine traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers; building strong, intelligent, and digitally proficient women in the Army; building a strong Women's Union organization, contributing to building a clean, strong, and exemplary Party Committee of the Army; a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Army; and firmly defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.”
The Congress summarized and evaluated the strengths, weaknesses, causes, and lessons learned in the leadership, direction, and organization of women's work and the women's movement in the Army during the 2021-2025 period; and at the same time determined the direction, objectives, tasks, and solutions for women's work in the Army during the 2025-2030 period, meeting the requirements of building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern army.
At the Congress, delegates also contributed opinions to the Congress documents and the documents of the 14th National Congress of Women's Representatives; and elected delegates to the 14th National Congress of Women's Representatives for the 2026-2031 term.
During the Congress, the Organizing Committee, in coordination with the Vietnam Military History Museum and the political departments of the units, organized an exhibition in the Ministry of National Defense auditorium area, including photographs, thematic books, and booths showcasing creative products by women in the military.
Leading up to this All-Army Congress, as of December 5, 2025, 100% of agencies and units throughout the army have directed and organized women's congresses and conferences at all levels in accordance with procedures and principles, ensuring quality; demonstrating many innovations and creativity from the preparation of documents and personnel to the management and discussion; reflecting a spirit of democracy, solidarity, and the promotion of collective intelligence, creating a vibrant atmosphere of emulation, and truly being a widespread political activity for women in the Army.
During the 2021-2025 period, women's work and the women's movement in the military closely followed political tasks, implemented comprehensively, with a focus on key areas, achieving high quality and effectiveness, and meeting the requirements of the mission in the context of streamlining the organizational structure and digital transformation; building strong women's organizations, achieving and exceeding the goals, targets, and tasks set by the 7th Congress of Women's Representatives of the Army.
100% of female cadres and members responded to the movement "Women cultivating the good values of Vietnamese families," improving the effectiveness of savings groups to help women improve their income and enhance the quality of family life.
Notably, women in the military have innovated and creatively applied new programs launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, such as: "Women in the Military Fulfilling Dreams," "Women in the Military Spreading Love," and "Women in the Military Expressing Gratitude - Continuing the Tradition of Remembering the Source," through practical and effective activities with a total value of nearly 60 billion VND.
