Dak Lak makes a breakthrough from processed agricultural products to trade and services

The economic picture of Dak Lak province in the first 9 months of 2025 is emerging with bright colors. From the land known as the coffee capital of the country, Dak Lak is gradually asserting its position as the economic and commercial center of the Central Highlands region, when the processing industry and retail services are both making strong breakthroughs.

Processing industry plays the role of "locomotive"

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak , in the first 9 months of 2025, the processing and manufacturing industry continued to be the main growth driver, contributing greatly to the production value of the whole industry. Many key products not only remained stable but also far exceeded the set plan.

Cassava starch output reached more than 153,000 tons, sugarcane approximately 246,000 tons, processed coffee nearly 38,000 tons, cashew nut exports more than 29,600 tons. These figures not only reflect the increasingly stable production capacity of the enterprise but also show the effective cooperation between farmers, cooperatives and local authorities in increasing the value of agricultural products - gradually reducing raw exports, enhancing the Dak Lak brand.

Many businesses have boldly invested in deep processing lines, expanding export markets to Europe, Japan, and the US. A series of factories processing instant coffee, cocoa powder, and clean pepper have been put into operation, helping to shift the industrial structure towards modernity and sustainability.

Entering the fourth quarter of 2025, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade sets a target of an industrial production index increase of at least 10% over the same period.

Along with the industrial growth, the trade and service sector also recorded positive results. In September alone, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached more than 16,000 billion VND, up nearly 16% over the same period. In the first 9 months, the province's retail revenue reached over 138,000 billion VND, completing more than 75% of the yearly plan, up more than 13% compared to 2024.

These growth figures are clearly reflected in daily life. At supermarkets and shopping centers in the central wards of Dak Lak province, the weekend shopping atmosphere is always bustling. Promotions, discounts, and “Vietnamese Goods Festivals” are regularly implemented, contributing to stimulating consumption and promoting the circulation of goods.

In traditional markets, purchasing power has also increased significantly. Stalls of local agricultural products such as coffee, pepper, honey, clean vegetables, etc. are always popular. Not only creating income for people, domestic trade activities also play an important role in consuming agricultural products, stabilizing the market and ensuring social security.

Positive signals amid general difficulties

In the context of the global economy still having many fluctuations, Dak Lak's stability and impressive growth are the result of strong leadership from the province to the grassroots, the proactiveness of businesses and the efforts of the people.

Entering the fourth quarter of 2025, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade aims to increase the industrial production index by at least 10% over the same period, while continuing to promote administrative procedure reform, remove difficulties for businesses, and create an open and transparent investment environment.

With the right direction in developing the processing industry associated with trade and services, Dak Lak is affirming a strong transformation, gradually building a dynamic, modern economy, rich in the identity of the Central Highlands.
