According to the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, most water supply enterprises are currently facing difficulties due to the lack of specific water supply zones, leading to difficulties in developing long-term investment plans for the units. Infrastructure planning is not yet synchronized, leading to slow implementation of some projects.
Some areas are stuck in planning so it is impossible to invest in water supply infrastructure to serve the people. The price of clean water after appraisal and approval is still high compared to the income of rural people...
In the 2026-2030 period, Dong Nai will continue to implement transitional projects from 2025; invest in 10 new projects, providing water for about 137,200 people.
Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang affirmed that Dong Nai's goal by 2030 is to have 85% of rural households using clean water that meets standards, of which 68% use water from centralized water supply works, and 17% use water from household water supply works and water filtration equipment.
To achieve this goal, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province requested the Department of Construction and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review all planned rural clean water supply projects to update the province's planning.
The Provincial People's Committee will have a separate directive document requesting wards and communes to review centralized water supply projects in the area to ensure they are suitable; and to divide investment zones. If there are already projects, it is necessary to avoid overlapping investments.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to review reservoirs in the province. Any reservoir that reduces the need for agricultural irrigation water should be regulated through domestic water, increasing the efficiency of the reservoirs.
Regarding the province's clean water investment plan for the 2026-2030 period, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will coordinate with the Department of Construction to complete this plan based on practical comments from wards and communes.
