
Systematically introduce the formation and development process of the Vietnamese National Assembly
On January 6, 1946, for the first time in the history of Vietnam, the General Election for the National Assembly was conducted according to the principles of universal, equal, direct and secret suffrage. The success of the General Election was the result of the spirit of solidarity, heroic will and efforts of all Vietnamese people, and at the same time was a successful development of the Tan Trao National Congress.
Since its establishment, as the highest representative body of the People, the highest State power body of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the National Assembly has made great and important contributions to the country's revolutionary cause, increasingly affirming its central role in the political system, effectively performing the functions of: constitution-making, legislation, supreme supervision, deciding on important issues of the country and promoting parliamentary foreign affairs activities.

Those contributions have consolidated the legal foundation, promoted democracy, strengthened the strength of national solidarity, enhanced Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena, and brought the country into a new era of development - the era of national growth.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026), the Vietnam National Assembly Museum was inaugurated on the afternoon of December 2 to systematically introduce the formation and development process of the National Assembly of Vietnam, and at the same time honor the great contributions of the National Assembly leaders through the periods and generations of National Assembly deputies in the cause of continuous construction and innovation of the highest State power agency.
Not only a place to preserve historical memories, the Vietnam National Assembly Museum is also a space for the public and international friends to better understand the role and responsibility of the Vietnam National Assembly in the cause of national construction and development.
"Attractive address" contributes to political and ideological education, learning about the history of the National Assembly
The Vietnam National Assembly Museum includes the following exhibition contents and themes:
Topic 1. President Ho Chi Minh - The founder of the Vietnamese National Assembly : highlights the role and profound influence of President Ho Chi Minh on the birth and development of the National Assembly. He participated in important activities of the National Assembly, played a leading role in building a democratic - united - unified Vietnamese National Assembly, made important developments in building legal institutions, gradually perfecting the legal system of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and at the same time made decisions on major economic, social and defense policies.

Typical images on display include: images of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square; images of President Ho Chi Minh voting for the 2nd National Assembly; quotes by President Ho Chi Minh about the National Assembly; short film "President Ho Chi Minh with the National Assembly"; display of artifacts related to President Ho Chi Minh with the National Assembly.
Topic 2. The birth and development of the Vietnamese National Assembly: Introduction Tan Trao National Congress - the predecessor of the Vietnamese National Assembly; introducing the National Assembly Chairmen through the periods; election of National Assembly deputies of each term and introducing the Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of each term; traces of activities at National Assembly sessions and outstanding achievements of the National Assembly through the terms; displaying some typical artifacts about the activities of the National Assembly.
Topic 3. Activities of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the fields of constitution-making, legislation, deciding on important issues, and supervision: displaying images, documents, and artifacts focusing on introducing the role and important contributions of the National Assembly from 1946 to the present through the implementation of the functions of constitution-making and legislation; deciding on important issues of the country, and supreme supervision of the activities of the State and the foreign affairs activities of the National Assembly.

Regarding constitutional and legislative activities: The museum displays images, documents, and artifacts on constitutional activities (Constitutions of 1946, 1959, 1980, 1992, 2013 and amendments and supplements to a number of articles in 2025); legislative activities. Regarding supervisory activities: displays images, documents, and artifacts on supervisory activities. Regarding decisions on important national issues: displays images, documents, and artifacts on important national issues.
Topic 4. Global mission, raising the status : introducing the foreign affairs activities of the National Assembly as an inseparable part of the foreign affairs activities of the Party and State of Vietnam. The foreign affairs activities of the National Assembly are identified as an important front in the resistance war for national liberation, national reunification, and national construction and development.
To date, the Vietnamese National Assembly has relations with the National Assemblies and Parliaments of nearly 200 countries and is a member of many international inter-parliamentary organizations and forums. The Vietnamese National Assembly is also an observer of a number of other parliamentary organizations with active and effective activities, contributing to enhancing the image and position of Vietnam in the international arena. With a harmonious combination of State diplomacy and People's diplomacy, the foreign affairs activities of the Vietnamese National Assembly have created their own mark on both bilateral and multilateral levels.
This theme introduces images and documents on bilateral and multilateral foreign affairs activities; the short film “Global Mission to Raise the Status”; displays a number of typical foreign affairs artifacts of the National Assembly and its leaders. In addition, the Museum also displays a number of artifacts of Vietnamese National Assembly deputies through the terms.

In addition to the main themes, the Museum also displays images of Party and State leaders with the National Assembly; images of the National Assembly Chairman taking the oath for the first time according to the provisions of the 2013 Constitution; images of the current National Assembly Chairman taking the oath; displays a collection of Constitutions, seals, a collection of badges of deputies, and certificates of National Assembly deputies in the ceremonial area.
Auxiliary exhibition areas such as: Ba Dinh Hall model, National Assembly House model; light sculpture art projection of the work "The power of the people"; 3D hologram technology about the 1946 Constitution, Ba Dinh Hall and the National Assembly building...; short films introducing the history of the National Assembly of Vietnam, "Imprints of National Assembly leadership through the periods", "Party and State leaders with the National Assembly", "Imprints of legislative activities of the 15th National Assembly", "Imprints of supervisory activities of the 15th National Assembly", "Imprints of foreign affairs activities of the 15th National Assembly"... interactive search screen.
In the coming time, the National Assembly Office will step up propaganda so that the Vietnam National Assembly Museum can truly become an "attractive address" contributing to political and ideological education, especially for the young generation, in learning about the history of the National Assembly.
