Thus, in the first 11 months, the total export value of the whole industry reached 64.01 billion USD, an increase of 12.6% and officially exceeded the record of 62.4 billion USD in 2024.

In the commodity structure, agricultural products continued to account for a large proportion with 34.24 billion USD, up 15%; livestock products reached 567.4 million USD, up 16.8%; aquatic products reached 10.38 billion USD, up 13.2%; forestry products reached 16.61 billion USD, up 5.9% over the same period last year.

On the other hand, the import turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in November is estimated at 3.92 billion USD, down both month-on-month and year-on-year. In the first 11 months, the import turnover reached 44.45 billion USD, up 10.1%. As a result, the whole industry's trade surplus reached 19.55 billion USD, up 19% over the previous year; November alone reached 1.88 billion USD.

Among the key agricultural products, many items recorded strong growth. Coffee continued to be a bright spot with a breakthrough increase in both quantity and value. Coffee exports in 11 months reached 1.4 million tons, bringing in 7.88 billion USD, up 14.1% and 59.7% respectively. The average export price reached 5,667.6 USD/ton, up nearly 40%. Germany, Italy and Spain are the three largest markets of Vietnam. Notably, coffee exports to Mexico increased by 26.1 times.

Fruits and vegetables maintained a steady growth momentum, reaching 7.91 billion USD, up 19.5% thanks to high demand from China and expansion in the United States. Cashew nuts also grew positively with 4.76 billion USD, although output increased slightly; price was the main factor contributing to the increase in turnover. Pepper, although decreased in volume, increased sharply in price, bringing turnover to 1.5 billion USD, up more than 23%.

Contrary to the positive growth trend, some key commodities continued to decline. Rice decreased the most: in 11 months, it reached 7.5 million tons and 3.83 billion USD, down 11.5% in volume and 27.7% in value. The average export price decreased sharply due to strong competition and fluctuations in world prices.

Tea continued to decline as demand in traditional markets has not recovered. Rubber also decreased by nearly 7% in volume and value although the average export price increased slightly; 11 months reached 1.7 million tons with 2.89 billion USD.

Aiming for export target of 70 billion USD

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien said that according to forecasts, Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports in 2025 could reach 70 billion USD, with a surplus of about 20 billion USD. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will continue to expand markets, take advantage of opportunities and accelerate the implementation of the 2025 export promotion plan, aiming for a target of about 70 billion USD.

Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien also emphasized that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment clearly identified the importance of building and developing green value chains. This is a solution to promote safe, environmentally friendly production, contributing to the protection of land, water resources, biodiversity, while strengthening regional connectivity and developing circular agriculture. Modern agricultural production needs to aim for green, organic, circular agriculture and sustainable development, integrated throughout the entire value chain.
