TPO - Floodwaters continued to rise on the afternoon of September 10th, and many residents living along the Red River ( Hanoi ) received assistance from authorities in evacuating and relocating their belongings. "I am very worried about my family's property, but the most important thing right now is to avoid the flood to ensure safety," shared a resident in Phuc Xa ward, Ba Dinh district.

According to information from the Ba Dinh District People's Committee, starting from the morning of September 10th, the district is relocating approximately 200 households at high risk in the Red River bank area, within Phuc Xa ward.

Observations at Group 3, Phuc Xa Ward at 4 PM today showed that most households that had been urged to relocate had completed the process. However, some families were still taking a little extra time to move their belongings to a safe place.

While cleaning the house and sobbing, Mrs. Lai Thi Thin said: "I'm trying to move things to higher ground, I'm really scared. I've lived here for so many years and I've never seen the water rise this high. It's already more than a meter high since this morning."

At noon on September 10th, the Hanoi City Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue issued a Level 1 alert on the Red River in the districts of Bac Tu Liem, Tay Ho, Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai, Long Bien and the districts of Thanh Tri, Dong Anh, and Gia Lam.

To expedite the relocation process, the neighborhood committee of Phuc Xa ward has made efforts to support the residents.

Some households moved their belongings to higher ground to avoid flooding when the water level rose. "My family received assistance from the militia to move our belongings to higher ground, ensuring safety if the water level rose too high," shared Ms. Ngo Thi Dieu Hang.

The woman carefully moved each item to a safer location before proceeding with the relocation.

Upon hearing the news that they had to relocate, Mr. Nguyen Trung Sy and his wife tried to arrange their house. "I'm very worried about the flood; the water is rising every moment. I have to go to a relative's house to stay temporarily for a few days until the water recedes."
