Ward 4, Duong Dong, Phu Quoc special zone has more than 950 households, of which ethnic minorities account for nearly 7%. In the first days of October, the ward was covered with red flags, each street was swept clean, making it more convenient for people to trade and travel. This is the result of the propaganda and mobilization sessions of Mr. Phu Chi Tho (Chinese ethnic group) - Secretary of Ward 4 Party Cell.
Mr. Le Quang Tot, a resident of Ward 4, shared: “Ly Cong Luan alley used to be narrow and degraded, and social evils often occurred at night, so people were very worried. Thanks to Mr. Phu Chi Tho's persistent efforts, people contributed working days and more than 400 million VND to upgrade and widen the alley, and install a smart lighting system. Since then, traveling and trading have become more convenient, security and order have been ensured, and people's lives have become more stable and improved.”
In addition to social security work and infrastructure construction, Mr. Phu Chi Tho also stands out in the role of grassroots mediator. With his ingenuity, patience and sincerity, he helps resolve many conflicts and disputes in the community, maintaining the neighborly relationship. Thanks to that, the neighborhood no longer has to file petitions to higher levels, and marriage and land cases have decreased significantly. Under his leadership and the solidarity of party members, Party cell of neighborhood 4 has successfully completed its tasks for many years. Mr. Tho also received many certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions for his outstanding achievements in promoting the role of a prestigious person among ethnic minorities. "As Party cell secretary, I am close to the people and listen to them. As long as I am healthy, I will continue to contribute and fulfill my responsibilities when assigned by the Party, and the people trust me," Mr. Tho shared.

In Hon Me land, Hon Dat commune, Mr. Danh Loi - Secretary of Hon Me hamlet is affectionately called by the Khmer people as "Mr. Loi Secretary". Having been attached to the grassroots for nearly 20 years, he is a solid support for the people here. Hon Me hamlet has more than 500 households, most of whom are Khmer people living on farming, small-scale production, and unstable income. Understanding this, Mr. Danh Loi regularly visits each household to propagate and mobilize participation in the collective economy, applying science and technology to production. Thanks to his guidance, many households have boldly joined the Hoa Loc Hon Dat Mango Cooperative, improving productivity and stabilizing income.
Mr. Danh Co, a resident of Hon Me hamlet, shared: "Since joining the Hoa Loc Hon Dat Mango Cooperative, Mr. Loi and many others have guided me on care techniques to help mangoes achieve high productivity, and our family economy is much more stable than before."
Not only is he a dedicated cadre, Mr. Danh Loi is also a good farmer with 3 hectares of rice and 1 hectare of mango, earning more than 100 million VND per year. He is always a role model in movements, raising 4 children to adulthood and encouraging his fellow countrymen to take care of their children's education. Chairman of the People's Committee of Hon Dat Commune Pham Thu Thuy commented: "Mr. Danh Loi is exemplary, enthusiastic, always completes his tasks well, actively encourages Khmer people to participate in emulation movements, develop production and take care of people's lives. Thanks to that, Khmer people follow suit, together striving to get rich in their homeland".
Over the past years, the appearance of Hon Me hamlet has changed dramatically with green fields and many new houses, demonstrating the solidarity and efforts of the Khmer people. This result is largely due to Mr. Loi's contribution. "As a party member, I must first set an example. When people see that party members' words go hand in hand with their actions, they will believe and follow. I always think that if we want people to be better off, first of all, party members must go first and do first," Mr. Danh Loi expressed.
