According to Dr. Nguyen Dai Vinh, Director of the City CDC, the report shows that the grassroots health sector, especially the commune/ward level, plays an important role in infectious disease surveillance, so it is necessary to improve the capacity of this force. This is one of the key tasks of the city's health sector.

"Through the reports, the reality of the infectious disease surveillance system in Da Nang city is accurately reflected, with many advantages as well as some shortcomings that need to be overcome," Dr. Nguyen Dai Vinh acknowledged.

According to Deputy Director of the City Department of Health Truong Quang Binh, the city's health sector was assigned by the City People's Committee to research and evaluate the infectious disease surveillance system in the area.

The research results have pointed out 5 gaps in improving human resource capacity; disease surveillance processes; use of information technology; coordination between levels, departments and sectors; and maximum mobilization of resources from the community. The health sector continues to advise the City People's Committee to develop mechanisms and policies to overcome these gaps.

The objective of the project "Improving the capacity to monitor infectious diseases in Da Nang" is to improve surveillance capacity to help detect epidemics early, thereby having timely response measures, contributing to protecting public health.

Ensure 100% of preventive and public health staff at all levels; 100% of medical examination and treatment facilities (hospitals, medical center treatment blocks) in the city have medical staff trained, educated, and have improved knowledge and skills in early detection, epidemiological analysis, and surveillance of infectious diseases.
