Official list of 23 U23 Vietnam players participating in the 2024 U23 Asia qualifiers

This morning (September 5), Coach Philippe Troussier made the decision to select 23 players for the official list of U23 Vietnam to compete in the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ).

Accordingly, the group of players not in coach Philippe Troussier's plan for the 2024 U23 Asian qualifying campaign includes: Huynh The Hieu, Nguyen Minh Quang, Pham Dinh Duy, Vo Nguyen Hoang, Dinh Xuan Tien, Tran Van Thang, Vu Tien Long, Huynh Cong Den, Nguyen An Khanh, Dang Tuan Phong, Giap Tuan Duong and Tran Nam Hai.

Among these, Dinh Xuan Tien's case is the most regrettable when he had an injury problem and had to return to the club for treatment. Xuan Tien plays in the attacking midfielder position and just won the top scorer title at the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 tournament under the guidance of coach Hoang Anh Tuan.

Meanwhile, a group of 4 players including Nguyen An Khanh, Dang Tuan Phong, Giap Tuan Duong and Tran Nam Hai were retained by coach Philippe Troussier and transferred to the Vietnam national team, currently practicing to prepare for the international friendly match with Palestine during FIFA Days on September 11.

Some players such as Nguyen Minh Quang and Vo Nguyen Hoang, who are part of the Vietnam Olympic team, will gather on September 7 to prepare for the 19th Asiad.

As planned, this afternoon (September 5), U23 Vietnam will have their last training session in Hanoi before moving to Phu Tho to prepare for the opening match against U23 Guam in Group C of the 2024 U23 Asia qualifiers.

This match will take place at 7pm on September 6 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho). Before that, at 4pm, there will be a match between U23 Singapore and U23 Yemen.
