To facilitate the project, local authorities are aggressively clearing land and striving to essentially complete the construction of resettlement areas before June next year.
The family of Mr. Ton Duc Thuy (Dai Viet village, Can Loc commune, Ha Tinh province) is expected to be relocated to make way for the high-speed railway project. Nearly 1,000 square meters of their land and house will have to be cleared to make way for the project.
"When building resettlement areas, we will move to new areas that we are certain the people will agree to. We will hand over the residential area, the land here, for the state to carry out the project," Mr. Thuy shared.
In the resettlement area of Lien Vinh residential group, Ha Huy Tap ward, the project has currently achieved over 40% of the assigned work volume.
The North-South high-speed railway project passes through Ha Tinh province with a total length of approximately 103km, traversing 23 communes and wards, requiring the relocation and resettlement of nearly 1,300 households to make way for the project.
Mr. Tran Bau Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province, informed: "To facilitate land clearance for the project, it is expected that 35 resettlement areas will need to be built in the province. To date, 31 areas have completed planning, 23 areas have completed design documents, and 1 resettlement area has commenced construction."
