In early 2025, the Hanoi People's Committee decided to lease more than 27,500 m² of land in Yen So ward (Hoang Mai district) to Thanh Tri Bus Station Joint Stock Company to implement the Yen So Bus Station construction project, with the land use term until December 30, 2066.
With a total investment of nearly 120 billion VND, Yen So Bus Station is planned as a key project to reduce the load on Giap Bat Bus Station - one of the oldest and most overloaded bus stations in the capital. The project is located on Ring Road 3, about 5 km from Giap Bat Bus Station and 2 km from Nuoc Ngam Bus Station, conveniently connecting inter-regional traffic.
The project will start construction in the second quarter of 2025, with a construction area of 3,445 m², including 4 floors (3 above-ground floors, 1 basement). Of which, the 5,000 m² basement is used as a parking garage, the first floor is for ticket sales and showrooms, and the second floor is for fast food services. The center of the bus station is a circular building with a total floor area of over 14,500 m², 19.2 m high.
According to the plan, the bus station has a capacity of 800 - 1,000 vehicles/day, meeting the travel needs of people in the southern area of Hanoi. Yen So bus station will receive many bus routes from Giap Bat.
In the long term, when Ring Road 4 is completed, this place will be converted into a public transport hub, in line with the sustainable transport development orientation of the capital.
