Proposal to promote the application of AI and digital technology in government activities

The Ministry of Science and Technology has just proposed that localities across the country need to promote the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology in the organization and operation of two-level local governments, in order to improve the efficiency of management, administration and service to people and businesses.

The Ministry of Science and Technology recommends:

Prioritize the deployment of virtual assistant tools and AI chatbots on online public service platforms; speed up the process of processing records online, aiming for 70% of public service records to be processed online by the end of 2025.

Localities need to build intelligent operation centers (IOCs), strengthen online post-audits and transparently monitor the implementation of decentralization and delegation of powers.

Emphasize the need to train local officials and civil servants in digital skills, especially in new areas such as intellectual property, innovation, standards - measurement - quality, and information technology. Attracting high-tech human resources is also a prerequisite to ensure the effective operation of the e-government model at the grassroots level.
