In the context of the Ministry of Finance proposing to raise the threshold for tax-free revenue for business households to 500 million VND/year, many experts believe that this level is still not suitable for current operating costs and price levels. According to analysis, costs such as rental space, labor, transportation and raw materials have all increased sharply over the past many years, making it almost impossible for a business household with a revenue of 500 million VND/year to accumulate.
Therefore, many opinions propose to raise the tax exemption threshold to 750 million VND/year to create room for development for the individual business sector - a group that accounts for a large proportion but has limited resilience. The new threshold not only helps to clearly distinguish the scale between small business households and larger business groups, but also limits the situation of "dividing revenue" to avoid taxes. At the same time, this adjustment is expected to encourage business households to declare transparently and boldly convert to an enterprise model when qualified.
