Hanoi National University has a new director, a former Deputy Minister of Education and Training

(Dan Tri) - Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son has just been transferred and appointed by the Prime Minister as Director of Hanoi National University to replace Professor Dr. Le Quan as Deputy Minister of Education and Training.

Specifically, in Decision No. 1885/QD-TTg dated September 3, the Prime Minister assigned and appointed Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, to hold the position of Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University.

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son was born in 1969, hometown in Hung Yen province. Professional qualification, Associate Professor, Doctor of Science in Control and Automation.

From 2000 to 2014, he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Electricity (now the Institute of Electricity), Hanoi University of Science and Technology; then Head of Training Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

In 2006, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor.

In April 2014, Mr. Hoang Minh Son was Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology and became President of this school in July 2015.

In August 2020, Mr. Son was Chairman of the Board of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

In October 2020, Mr. Hoang Minh Son held the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training.

At the Ministry of Education and Training, the fields he is in charge of are university education, vocational education; continuing education; diploma and certificate management; digital transformation, application of information technology in assigned fields...

Hanoi National University is the first university that President Ho Chi Minh signed a decree to open under the light of independence.

Accordingly, President Ho Chi Minh signed the decree to open the first course of Vietnam National University - the predecessor of the current VNU, on November 15, 1945 and presided over the opening ceremony.

Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang, Chairman of the Training Council of VNU, emphasized: “Now, when the country has a solid foundation and is entering a new era of development, VNU is increasingly aware of its historical responsibility: continuing the aspiration that President Ho Chi Minh initiated, accompanying the nation on the path to prosperity and strength.”
