The South China Morning Post reported on May 23rd that the last wish of a 29-year-old woman whose body stopped developing after the age of four has touched netizens, as she expressed her desire to donate her organs to repay the love of her adoptive family.
The last wishes of Ms. Meng Yun in Anhui Province, China, have been fulfilled following her recent death.
The exact circumstances are unclear, but the woman was abandoned after giving birth. A woman named Cao Chi Binh (currently 74 years old) discovered the baby, Manh, abandoned on the street and took her in, raising and caring for her as if she were her own granddaughter. Ms. Cao's daughter said that her mother devoted herself entirely to caring for Manh.
Despite her modest income, Mrs. Cao was determined to raise and always showed love to her daughter. "Other children are loved by their parents, but Mạnh is not," Mrs. Cao often said to her own children.
Due to a severe physical disability, Ms. Mạnh cannot control her limbs at will, only her head and neck movements. Therefore, she usually lies face down in bed because all other positions are uncomfortable.
Ms. Cao's daughter said that Ms. Meng's body was like that of a four-year-old child and did not develop further until her recent death. "I received so much love. I can't give anything back, only myself," Ms. Meng said before she passed away.
Medical staff bowed in respect after Ms. Meng passed away.
