Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) is urging residents of Ho Chi Minh City to download the EVNHCMC app to monitor their daily electricity consumption.

Two months after the administrative boundary merger, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation has ensured a safe and stable electricity supply for a megacity of over 14 million people. The power sector always maintains transparency in all its production, business, and customer service activities.

Customer-centric service

One of the tasks that the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) pays special attention to is addressing the feedback of electricity customers.

In the two months since taking over additional customers in the former Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau areas, the city's electricity sector has received the most complaints from customers regarding increased electricity bills.

The Ho Chi Minh City electricity sector stated that although information about electricity bill increases is widely circulated on social media, most of it is fabricated or deleted to conceal the truth. Those posting often use fake accounts or AI technology to create fictitious electricity bill increases. Therefore, the electricity sector cannot accurately identify customer information to contact them for clarification.

In August, EVNHCMC identified eight cases of residential electricity customers complaining about their electricity bills on social media. All of these cases were contacted, investigated, and their concerns addressed.

After receiving detailed explanations and analysis of their daily electricity consumption from the power company staff, the customers were satisfied and had no further complaints or questions.

For example, a customer in the area served by Binh Duong Power Company posted on social media questioning why their electricity bill for July and August was "exactly the same".

Upon contacting the customer, the electricity sector analyzed the customer's electricity usage chart for two months and found that while the daily electricity consumption in July and August differed, the total electricity consumption for both months was the same. This coincidence was purely coincidental, and the customer understood after a thorough explanation.

Similarly, a customer served by An Phu Dong Power Company also questioned why their electricity bill for July was over 3.6 million VND, while in June it was only 2.8 million VND, even though their electricity consumption and the appliances they used remained unchanged.

Through contact and investigation, it was learned that this household runs an online business, frequently uses a large number of lighting fixtures for filming sales videos, has two air conditioners and several fans that are used continuously for many hours a day. The house is equipped with many high-power electrical appliances such as: water pumps, televisions, electric stoves, refrigerators, etc.

The electricity sector advises people not to be taken advantage of.

Mr. Bui Trung Kien, Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC, stated that it is normal for electricity consumption by residential customers to increase or decrease during the month. This depends on factors such as weather, the number of users, the time of use, the equipment used, and the behavior of the users.

Representatives from EVNHCMC also advised people to be cautious and carefully verify information before posting or sharing it on social media to avoid posting inaccurate information that could cause public panic and affect local security and order.

In addition, it can lead to the leakage of personal information, creating opportunities for malicious individuals to collect information and carry out fraudulent activities.

For inquiries regarding increased electricity consumption or comments on electricity bills, customers should contact EVNHCMC directly via the hotline 1900545454, email: cskh@hcmpc.com.vn, the fanpage: Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, or the EVNHCMC app to receive timely information.

The total electricity consumption of the customer in July and August was the same, but the daily consumption varied.

The Ho Chi Minh City electricity sector is committed to protecting all customer information and promptly contacting and coordinating with customers to check, verify, and explain the situation. The entire process of checking and reviewing information is open, transparent, and directly supervised by customers.

EVNHCMC leaders further stated that the Vietnamese electricity sector in general, and the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation in particular, always strictly adhere to the regulations of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the procedures of the Vietnam Electricity Group in measuring electricity consumption and electricity prices. The electricity sector only uses and installs meters that have passed inspection to ensure accurate operation.

Install the EVNHCMC app to track your daily electricity consumption.

Along with the deployment of the remote metering system, EVNHCMC has developed a customer care application (EVNHCMC) for smart mobile devices.

Through this application, customers can proactively monitor their electricity usage and also track the quality of electricity services anytime, anywhere.

For customers with high electricity consumption through dedicated substations, EVNHCMC provides daily electricity usage charts, power charts, current charts, power factor charts, etc., every 30 minutes to allow customers to remotely monitor the power system in near real-time.
