Mr. Tran Hoai Uoc's family (group 17, Cam Duong ward) invested nearly 40 million VND to install a rooftop solar power system. After a year of use, he said: "My family works in motorbike repair so we use a lot of electricity, especially during the day. Since installing solar power, the electricity bill has decreased significantly - from about 2.4 - 2.6 million VND/month to 1 - 1.2 million VND. This summer, my two children can stay at home with the air conditioner and fan on all day without worrying about wasting electricity."

Also in Cam Duong ward, the family of Mr. Pham Ngoc Chau (Group 13) decided to invest in a 10kWp system worth nearly 80 million VND, which serves both their family's needs and provides electricity for their coffee shop.
According to equipment suppliers, the number of households installing solar power in Lao Cai is increasing; mainly households with systems with capacity from 5 - 10 kWp. The cost of installing solar power systems has now decreased significantly thanks to the diversity of types and technical solutions, making it easier for many families to access.
Besides economic factors, environmental awareness is also a driving force behind many households switching to renewable energy to achieve self-sufficiency and ensure their family's living needs are met.

Viettel Construction Branch in Lao Cai is currently one of the units providing solar power services to people in the area.
Mr. Tran Huu Tuan, Sales Director of Viettel Construction Lao Cai Branch, said that since the beginning of 2025, the number of people installing solar power has increased dramatically. Every month, the unit signs installation contracts for more than 30 households and units in the area, a 10-fold increase compared to the same period in 2024.
The number of households installing solar power systems has increased significantly in recent times and is forecast to continue to increase in the future. With a one-time investment but long-term use, solar power not only helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also contributes to economic development, reduces household electricity costs and moves towards a green, environmentally friendly life.
