Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said that in the current context, energy is the foundation for economic growth and national modernization. The increasing demand for energy, while the world has set strong requirements for emission reduction, forces us to shift from the mindset of resource exploitation to the mindset of using energy economically and efficiently as a pillar of the green transition process.

Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW of the Politburo clearly defines the task of ensuring a stable, high-quality energy source for national development, while promoting the application of high-efficiency technology and energy-saving solutions to reduce consumption and emissions.
Along with that, Law No. 77/2025/QH15 amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy creates a stronger legal corridor to promote initiatives and models of efficient energy use from the business level to the community.
On that basis, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has deployed many communication, education and technical support activities to spread the message of energy saving in society. The contest "Electricity Saving Propaganda 2025" was launched in April 2025 with the desire to turn the message of electricity saving into concrete, creative and close actions for each citizen.
“We appreciate the positive response from localities, businesses, organizations and individuals. After more than 4 months, the contest has attracted 130 entries, a result that demonstrates the interest of society and the sense of responsibility of the community in practicing electricity saving. The awarded works not only have artistic and communication value but also convey a strong message: Every small action makes a big difference in saving energy,” Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long affirmed.
From the results of the contest, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade hopes that localities, businesses and the social community will continue to create regular movements, not only in 2025 but in many years to come. Each kWh of electricity saved is a contribution to the economy, the environment and the green future of the country.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade affirmed that the Ministry is committed to continuing to coordinate with localities, Vietnam Electricity Group and the business community to expand communication, training, technical support programs, and encourage initiatives on electricity saving.
“We hope to create more creative playgrounds so that every citizen can become an energy-saving propagandist, contributing to building a culture of economical and efficient electricity use. The success of today's contest is the beginning of a new journey. Let's continue to spread the message, replicate initiatives and transform awareness into practical action. Every family, every unit, every business, when acting together, will make an important contribution to ensuring energy security and sustainable development,” Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized.

According to the Organizing Committee, the contest is organized in the form of performances and video clips - an important innovation to increase the spread and make the works more accessible to the community. From the launch date to the submission deadline, the Organizing Committee has received 130 works from electricity companies, schools, businesses and individuals across the country. The works demonstrate rich creativity: Drama, comedy sketches, musicals, poems, literary excerpts, reports recreating real-life situations... Participants range from electricians, teachers, doctors, students, to agency staff and people, bringing a simple but vivid perspective on the story of saving electricity.
With a sense of responsibility, seriousness, impartiality and transparency, the Final Jury selected outstanding works, based on the criteria of content, propaganda effectiveness, applicability and ability to spread, to submit to the Competition Steering Committee for consideration and decision to award 22 prizes according to the structure: 1 Special Prize, 2 First Prizes (increasing 1 First Prize compared to the structure), 3 Second Prizes, 4 Third Prizes, 10 Encouragement Prizes, 1 Prize for the Unit with the most entries, 1 Prize for the Best Costume with a total value of the prizes up to nearly 300 million VND.
The award-winning works not only demonstrate outstanding professional quality but also have a special ability to inspire. From stories of saving electricity related to daily life, to initiatives applied to businesses, good models in schools, the works have truly become effective and close propaganda tools for the community.
Looking back at the 2025 season, it can be affirmed that the competition has achieved many results beyond expectations. The direction was carried out seriously and synchronously, ensuring professionalism from the stages of issuing documents, receiving entries, scoring to communication. The response of localities and businesses across the country shows that the electricity saving movement is not just a temporary campaign, but is becoming a voluntary action, closely linked to the habits of people and production units. The entries are of high quality, demonstrating elaborate investment and rich creativity, reflecting the goal of spreading the message of electricity saving.
