The Ho Chi Minh Road project through An Giang province is 45.3 km long, with a total investment of over VND3,900 billion, starting in March 2024 and expected to be completed in 2025.

To date, An Giang province has handed over 43,533 km of land, reaching over 96%. There are 2,156 households affected, of which about 181 households need resettlement. Three resettlement areas with a total area of 1.7 ha are being implemented in Vinh Phong, Go Quao and Vinh Tuy communes.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan presented gifts to encourage engineers, workers, and contractors constructing the Ho Chi Minh road project in Go Quao commune.

However, the project is still stuck with land issues of 87 households in Chau Thanh, Go Quao, Vinh Tuy, Vinh Phong communes, equivalent to 2,785m2.

The reason is that households have not agreed to the compensation price, have not received money for site clearance due to inheritance disputes, have not received money for job conversion, some other cases have received money but demand compensation for architectural works and support for shrimp pond relocation, request for resettlement arrangement...

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan encouraged the team of engineers, workers and contractors constructing the Ho Chi Minh road project in Vinh Tuy commune.

An Giang province recommends that the Ministry of Construction and the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board pay attention to promptly adjusting the box culvert at Km59+482.76 into a bridge with similar technical specifications to the Ba Bang canal bridge built on the North-South Expressway, East side according to the content of Official Dispatch No. 1720/UBND-KT, dated June 27, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee.

Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Giang Thanh Khoa said the province continues to direct sectors and localities to increase human resources, carry out site clearance, relocate technical infrastructure and build resettlement areas to soon hand over the site to investors.

Representative of Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board reported on project implementation status.

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan emphasized: The Ho Chi Minh Road project is a people's project, with the meaning of connecting the country and being a national symbol. Therefore, the implementation needs to be drastic, methodical and closely follow each stage.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested the Ministry of Construction to have a separate report on the progress of the two sections Rach Soi - Ben Nhat and Go Quao - Vinh Thuan, clarifying each task and each time frame to report to the National Assembly in October 2025.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan gave a speech during a working session in Go Quao commune.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan requested the Ministry of Construction and the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the authorities of An Giang and Ca Mau provinces to grasp the current situation, specifically report on the progress of implementation, especially the work of site clearance and resettlement; actively mobilize and support people to relocate, arrange resettlement areas, pay compensation according to regulations, including support for house rent while waiting for new accommodation to be settled.

In particular, it is necessary to check and review each specific case, listen to people's thoughts and aspirations, resolve them in accordance with the law, and ensure that they are both reasonable and emotional.
